Does anyone know how to play a LAN game with a friend without getting that text box that says you CD key is in use?
For EE1 or EE2?
For EE2, just use Unofficial Patch 1.5 Multiplayer Lobby:

Otherwise, according to:
https://www.gog.com/game/empire_earth_2_gold "Multiplayer mode is available after registering your unique CD-key for the game. For details see: Support." So you would have to contact the Support to get a CD-KEY...
