In all the previous free giveaways you permanently added the game to your account, just like if you bought it. So i guess no, it won't disappear if you don't download in time. You'll be able to download it whenever you want and as many times as you want.

I just bought it (1 minute ago) and it charged me, it didn't process as free :(

Did I do something wrong? I'm not upset or anything, it's still worth $5, but I had expected it to be reduced to $0 when I processed my order. My order had several other games in it, I don't know if that had an effect on anything.

I have the oposite problem as the threadposter: When the holiday sales started servers were under heavy load and I got a "sorry server is not accessible" (or sth to that effect) several times. I tried to download empire earth (didn't have to add it to the shopping cart) several times - but failed the first few times, due to high server load. But one time I managed and when I checked my Account some time later I had FOUR copies of empire earth on my account oO ! I wrote to support, if they can remove three of the copies from my account, but unfortunately no feedback yet :( ...

Anyone has the same problem and an idea how to remove those excess copies from my account?

As there is no option to remove games from your shelf by yourself, the guys from support are the only ones who can help you.

zainodis after a similar experience with the servers I also have multiple copies of game in my shelf (2 in my case), I've contacted Support 3 times now since I noticed but so far no response. I guess they're very busy at the moment, so I'm going to wait quite a while before trying again..

I contacted them once - but it was right after the offer finished, so it's been a while. And yes, I guess they really busy with the christmas sales and all :) but interesting to know, that I am not the only one...

Hello.

Count me too. I have three Empire Earth's copies on my GOG shelf and I've been waiting for a reply from the support too!
I also have multiple copies showing — 5 copies :(
It is very annoying but I'm sure the GOG support team will respond in the new year. I contacted them once immediately after it happened and once more a few days later, with no response so far.
2 copies showing here, wait & see for a solution it's no big deal but a shelf should be nice and clean :D
