I only get the title banner and then "Empire Earth.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly...blah blah blah." Don't even make it to the intro video.

I'm running Win7 64 bit, which others have said works fine with this game. Works fine on my XP machine.

Video card is Radeon HD 4890. Tried updating the video driver.

Also tried Win 2000 and XP compatibility.

Please help.

If you still can't get it working, I'd recommend sending in a ticket to support.

Try renaming the movie folder. As I recall, the intro switches resolution several times, any of which could throw your system, particularly if its trying to handle it windowed.

I'm getting this problem with the Art of Conquest expansion, it crashes on start up after the splash screen. The base game will start up and run just fine though. Compatibility and running as admin do nothing.

I'm also getting a crash on the expansion after the splash screen. Normal game works fine.

Found the issue of the expansion not working, a necessary registry file wasn't inserting.

To fix this, run the original Empire Earth, edit game options and save them. This will generate the necessary registry keys for AoC to work.

Im also having trouble with AoC. EE1 works just fine, the expansion crashes immedaitely at startup

I was having the problem where AoC was crashing on startup but the vanilla game ran just fine. I was able to fix it by unchecking the "run in compatibility mode" check box on the .exe file. I'm running windows 7 btw.
