Is there a windowed mode for this game? The way I play, being able to switch in and out of the game would be very helpful, and it's just a hassle under default settings (and I can't find a setting to enable that would do this).

yep, open up the dxcfg.exe file in the Emperor of the Fading Suns folder, and set Display Mode to a resolution lower than your monitor's native resolution, and set Presentation to "Windowed".
