Indeed ScummVM is not an emulator, nor a collection of emulators -- not for the gaming platforms anyway. It provides a re-implementation of the engine (in this case AGOS), with support for the DOS and Amiga versions of the game -- and thus it only requires data files for those games.

Have there been cases where GOG provided Amiga versions of games, though? I am not sure I recall such (but that does not mean they don't).

Edit: I see some CinemaWare releases that are Amiga versions.

Gudadantza: But, frankly, is there any notable difference between the DOS an Amiga version? In a lot of games the Amiga version is superior and in that case the addition of the amiga version via ScummVM would be convenient.

Cadaver747: Amiga versions are better than DOS versions for games released before 1991 (most of the time), but in case of Elvira series I think all 2 or even 4 games, if we count ...A Personal Nightmare (1989) and Waxworks (1992), are better on Amiga, even though it's the same composer / sound programmer Dave Hasler in credits to Elvira 1 for both Amiga and DOS versions.

Amiga version has different sound track and it's much better than DOS even if set up for MT-32 or General MIDI (MT-32 / GM music is not bad but it's really weak in comparison), also the Amiga version has additional sounds like the wolf howling in intro and a small piece of voice over for Elvira upon first meeting, check this out and see for yourself:

DOS Music comparison (Sound Blaster vs MT-32) - in order to change Sound Blaster to MT-32 or GM (music for these should be identical) you need to run the setup.exe file under DOS or DOSBox, see attached

DOS Intro (on Sound Blaster):

Amiga Intro - notice the huge difference in tone and atmosphere, additional sounds like bells and wolf howling and Elvira little *speech* part, the music is grim and dark fitting the dire situation pretty well in my opinion:

Watching the videos, indeed the music, at least in Elvira 1, is superior in Amiga. Now the matter is to know if the ScummVM compatibility is well enough. I think so, but maybe it is not perfect.

Yes, if it were possible it would be a good candidate for the Amiga version in extras.

tehzig: Right, so, this fellow is correct. The Amiga Kickstart Rom still costs money. Still, I wonder what we'd be looking at to license it on a scale like what GOG would need. Like, would I be alone in saying I'd pay a bit to license the rom, or re-buy some amiga version games, at maybe a slightly higher price to cover licensing? I dunno, there's gotta be a way, right?
Sure there is. Speedlink for example packed an encrypted vesion of the ROM file to their emulated game collection which was shipped with the Competition Pro lookalike joystick.
Nowadays they replaced the whole thing with a collection of retro windows games.

Can't be too expensive, since they gave the stuff for free if you bought a joystick.

it's probably just less legal effort to just add a DOS-Version and DOSBOX

You can edit the dosbox conf file in both cases, dosbox_elvira_single.conf for Elvira I and dosbox_elvira2_single.conf for Elvira II, then you just need to replace runvga gamepc /s for runvga gamepc /m1 for Elvira I and runit gamepc /s for runit gamepc /m1 for Elvira II. It is set by default to use Soundblaster. This change sets the games to use Roland MT-32 instead.

Does GOG have any other Amiga games? People have asked for Amiga versions since GOG started but I don't think any have ever released here and probably never will. (Thus everyone should stop buying anything from GOG and let GOG die ;) /s)

Yes, apparently running directly the setup via DOSBOX does not change correctly the sound card, It always resest to Soundblaster/adlib. Anyway what I mean is that the Amiga Music Is much different, even using the better quality Roland driver the Amiga sound seems to be superior.

I can only think about Cinemaware games

If GOG was able to publish games with an Amiga emulator, there are alot of games we might have available. But since I can't think of ONE title that runs on a Amiga emulator on this site, I don't know why people are asking for it now. It's gonna either be DOSBox with GOG's easy to use settings slider, or ScummVM. There are no other emulations that take place for games sold on this platform.

As I said above some of the Cinemaware games are available in Amiga. Rocket Ranger is offered inAmiga and DOS

https://www.gog.com/game/wings_classic
https://www.gog.com/game/rocket_ranger_emulated_amiga_edition

Those are the only examples I can remember
+1

Only bought to show some support, in the hope they might eventually add it since the mood is lost in the DOS game, seriously what the hell is with the playful, cheery music in the second game? The original Amiga music still haunts me to this day, and I am not a person who easily gets freaked out.

Super huey and Super huey 2 are Commodore 64 versions and the disk images can be copied from the game folder.
+1, Amiga version just for the fantastisc music alone, which adds a LOT to the games atmosphere.
They should have added the Arcade game too. Very good soundtrack

also if they could emulate Elvira Pinball....

Amiga emulators tend to be a little too accurate for my taste. I tried emulating this game in WINUAE and there was loading every time the screen changed or the character moved. Don't know if there is a way to change that but if not then I'd personally stick with DOS.

Same with Personal Nightmare - Atari ST and Amiga versions look far superior.
