there's an item that when you release it's SP, your character go back to lvl 1 (but keep all his exp), and he gain gold=to his exp, then you make a donation at the temple....you're right about sleeping, it takes a while but with the medal that change someone to a random class it's not a problem, your character will be at the lvl he's suposed to be. but you should give a bit less than the max at first and then once you change his class with the medal, you can give the rest and sleep at the inn so he can max his stat.
I beat the elminage 3 boss with a solo mage with the blessing to act first. I cast an alchemy spell to hide my character and then I just nuke them.

well I had to come up with a setup with that one...

She (it?) looks menacing indeed, her AC is surprisingly low, but otherwise it looks less dangerous than Incarnation. She has quite an assortment of adds though :)

I think most dangerous enemies are those happy parties in Elminage 1-3, who level up each time you fight them.

How does the random dungeon with floor master work in Elminage 3? Sounds like interesting feature.

Incarnation isn't too bad, it just require some grinding...he doesn't do like 50%(and he ignore your resist) every status when attacking like the boss in elminage 1-2-3

the parties in elminage 1-3 aren't too bad, eventually they cap and become easy.

the random dungeon is mehh, It creates a random dungeon with a random floor master, some floor master will drop special items. it still a nice features but would of been much more cool if you could build your own dungeon(layout).
so basically you' just create dungeon to get some floor master...not worth exploring or anything else...on top of that the monster in dungeon will be around the lvl of the character/party who created the dungeon. So I had monster that kill themself and hit everyone in your party for like 300k hehe.

One interesting thought: The PC version of Elminage Gothic has the advantage of being easier to mod. I have been able to change how spells behave just by putting a modified spells.csv (I think) file in the game's directory. There is a program to unpack .BRA files that can be used to get at the game data, and the game prefers loose files over the ones packed in the .BRA file. If someone can reverse engineer the file format of the dungeon files, then creating custom dungeons could become possible.

Modifying the monsters is already possible, and that can be used to create more challenging enemies. Of course, one needs to be careful, or the fights might not be any fun. Also, keep in mind that if the enemy's summon resistance is less than 100%, a player might Contract that monster and use it as a summon or spirit pact character. Then again, it is likely possible to make it so that Werewolf Archers become Hunters rather than Bishops after Spirit Pact.

PSP versions looks to be moddable too, I think maybe to make rough translation for Elminage 3 as English version might never see light of the day otherwise. Lack of time stops me from that.

All graphics (including dungeon tiels) are stored in dds, which are easily modifiable by paint.net. Dungeon structure is in "01_92.dat" file (in S00 directory). It looks like raw data, 6400 bytes per dungeon floor, 16 bytes per square. 6400 byte sections follow the order of "DGN_NAME.csv". There are 91 dungeon floors in total, 92nd is dummied out. Enemy formation appearance is in "monapp.csv", enemy formation logic is in "monraw.csv", item tables in "treasure.csv".

This reminds me of a trick you can do in Wizardry 2. If you invoke the Coin of Power once, the character will change to a slow leveling class, but her level and XP won't change. Then cast (MA)HAMAN, and the character will lose a level, but *gain* experience to be appropriate to her new level. Afterwords, invoke the same Coin of Power again, and the character is 80% likely to be in a fast leveling class (Fighter, Mage, Cleric, Thief, could be Bishop if not lucky). At this point, all you need to do is cure the pesky DEAD status and the character can gain more levels by resting. The higher your level, the more levels you can gain with one Coin of Power.

If playing the Apple 2 version, you can get the initial levels by abusing Wizardry 1's Identify glich, then transferring the character to Wizardry 2.

By the way, this trick does not work with Elminage Gothic; when you use a Medal of Power, your level will change to match your class and XP.

One other thing: In Elminage Gothic (and probably 1-3), if you find yourself at max level without 9999 HP, all you need to do to fix that is level down (for example, cast Miracle) and then back up.

Don't you get 9999 HP naturally on the way to max level?

not only hp, but your stats too. that why when I use the medal, I don't give myself max exp right away. changing class with the medal reset your stat...

Can't you gain stats by using Protectorate, even if you're at max level? (You might need to level up a new character for this purpose.)

By the way, the old Wizardry games had a trick that would let you lose a level without losing experience. It worked as follows:
1. Enter a battle
2. Cast (MA)HAMAN. Do not teleport the enemies away. (In Apple Wizardry 1, MAHAMAN can teleport the enemies, but HAMAN can't, so use HAMAN.)
3. End the battle without winning or running away. MALOR is the easiest and least risky method (unlike in Elminage Gothic, it won't teleport you into rock during battle), LOKTOFEIT will work (but cause you to lose your gold and items), and losing the battle will as well (but you risk characters being lost forever).
4. Rest. You will regain the level you lost and get another chance of gaining stats, spells and HP.

This trick works all the way through Wizardry 5 (though not in 4 because that game is different and you can't be level drained).

Note that this doesn't work in Elminage Gothic. Honey Restorer isn't usable during combat, and Diomente doesn't prevent the experience loss. (I haven't tried losing the battle, however.)
