...are the NPCs in the game who look like plastic dolls of some sort--whose faces bear no expression and look just so weird and out of place--like from a children's cartoon show or something--that it's disconcerting and really breaks the game's immersion, despite my trying to enjoy it and not be critical of it. Now, some of the NPCs I meet have decent faces and expressions and look as if someone took time with them. Then there's the fact that since I've seen Caja and finally entered the Berserker's fort, I've seen 2-3 other female characters dressed identically to Caja and who look exactly like her except for some really slight--and I mean slight--facial differences. That is something you'd expect 10-15 years ago. Voice acting is inconsistent--it's great in some instances--amateurish in others. The animations for Jax are really disconcerting in various conversations, with him wearing his hood one minute and the next he's not. This game could use another six months of intense work, at least, and here's hoping PB will give that much to the game and more. The cut scenes look very rough and often don't match up with each other--and often look like they are just tacked together without much care for the general presentation. I think PB could do an AAA game, maybe--but this so far isn't it. It might serve as a story board--sort of. PB really needs to get cracking and stay cracking until they bring this game up to snuff--then they'd be surprised what it would do for them, their pocketbooks and their reputations.
I think PB is so rooted in their ways that we will likely never get more than an AA game from them, despite now being owned by THQ Nordic.

I'd like to hope I'm wrong, but I'm not sure. Apparently they already received enough funds from Elex 2 sales to start development on Elex 3, which will be the final part of the trilogy.

At this point, I'm torn between waiting for a dx12 build that probably won't change anything, or powering through the game as is.

Same here...waiting on them to patch these things. It shouldn't be that difficult to redo the outfits and the faces of some of these NPCs, because if they don't I won't be buying another of the Elex games. These aren't insurmountable problems at all, which makes their presence all the more baffling.
Yep exactly. It's like they finished the game with 3 devs.

What's funny (and sad) is that they didn't have any face animation issues with the first installment. Those faces looked much better than those of Elex 2 NPCs.

Another funny thing is for some reason they seem to have every individual blade of grass using cpu and gpu resources to animate, instead of using subroutines that make the job easier on the system.

The overuse of shadows has been a PB tradition, but this game seems pretty bad with it, especially. I did manage to get to a solid 72 fps with 60 in crater/fort by using a mod, but my character looked like a demon in certain situations, so I just reverted back and now deal with the fluctuations. Gotta be honest, most of the time I don't even notice it anymore. Except in the crater when my fps drops to 20ish.

The problem is that people still buy those janky games. STOP BUYING THEM! And then they will either have to change and adapt or go bankrupt. I mean, the 1st Witcher game (2007) had much better, fluid and intuitive combat system than this German krap (Elex 1 - 2017).
