TimJD: Ok, where do I *find* the difficulty settings? I went through all settings and it just is not there. Do I have to change it in the settings files directly? If so, where?
The only thing remotely close to this was something called 'highlight target lock' or something to that effect. A setting the game simply didn't remember the next time I started it and also didn't seem to do anything.
The target lock itself wouldn't be such a problem if it wasn't so badly implemented. One time I was attacked by a bunch of bandits, and there was a rat on the ground just going about its way. For some reason (you know what's coming...) the target lock chose... the rat. So I was just hacking left and right, because the bandits would keep getting between me and the damn rat (gee, I wonder why...?) and I couldn't risk disabling the lock because those few seconds would have been the end of me. I managed to get to the rat after three bandits died as collateral, and the last two bandits weren't a problem after this. And THAT is the only problem I have with the lock. ;)
The "difficulty" section of the settings can only be seen when you have already loaded a game and then open the menu with the escape key. It cannot be seen from the main menu which appears after you have started the application. (Don't ask me why PB thought that was a wise idea. If there were more than one profile, I could understand it, but...)
The target lock is one option within that difficulty section. The others are some presets, monster aggressiveness, combo difficulty and so on.
