Greetings,

Does anyone have any information on when the patch will be released? I have asked twice over at the Elex II discord, but they straight up ignore me. I am beginning to feel like GOG users are treated like 2nd or 3rd class citizens. I put in over 50 hours in the game, but even with my 5900x/6900 XT rig, performance leaves little to be desired and I can't get any answers out of THQ Nordic or PB on the status of this patch. This is the first time I have been upset with PB (I blame Jowood for Gothic 3) as much as I am right now, and I KNEW that being bought by THQ Nordic was going to be bad.

Remember when standalone patches used to be released? Why can't we download the patch, regardless of where we bought the game? Seriously, why can't we download a patch? Going from physical releases to majority digital releases was terrible for the industry.

PB developers actually stated on Steam that they couldn't be bothered to put the patch on GOG, because they sold more copies on Steam. So, although we bought their game on GOG, PB wants to punish us for not buying the game on Steam. Larian and Hello Games have no trouble putting out their updates on GOG the same day they go to Steam--same with the beta builds...they come to GOG when they come to Steam. PB dev on Steam (this is a PB developer, not a THQ Nordic employee) stated this more than once. GOG isn't worth the tiny effort it would take them to put the Beta patch on GOG. If they can't figure out how to use Galaxy tools to post a beta patch--if that's too hard--how can they program a game?

I have to tell you that I'll be surprised to see the patch released when PB decides it's ready for prime time--whenever that time comes. They give absolutely no updates on the state of the D3d12 patch--none. I asked about it on the Steam forum--no response. The PB developer keeps saying that they are "ironing out a few bugs," which is what he said weeks ago. And that's it. No dates, no updates on patch progress--nothing. Will it ever be released? PB says it will, someday.

I agree that THQ Nordic leaves a lot to be desired. They released another game here on GOG on the Monster Truck Madness theme--it's still full of bugs and has never been updated. Steam has updates for the game they've not bothered to put on GOG. I asked about that, too--here on GOG--and a guy did get back to me and tell me he'd let them know--and that was months ago--still no patches for GOG. Doesn't seem as though these people have any common sense when it comes to business at all. I'm at the point where I won't buy anything they publish, sad to say.
I made excuses for them before. Can't do it anymore. There's no excuse to take this long to not even have an eta for release of this patch.

And I'm serious, I just got done reading a thread on the steam forums where the cm said there's "no eta for release" of this patch.

I'm on the verge of uninstalling it and having it removed from my account, I'm so frustrated.
That's a pretty shabby Technic from the developer.
So, we need to buy it on steam ???

Why selling this game on GOG in the first place if the developer doesn't want to patch the game on GOG ?
It's this kind of attitudes that make me mad and want to buy a copy on consoles..
Wait.... The number of people with crashes is really alarming .....

I guess the problem nowadays is this : WHY ON EARTH launching UNFINISHED games , day one ?
you have NO pride in your work ? Well... work for Uber , you 'll see how some works are "fascinating"...

Hmm... I was interested in Elex II, because I bought Elex in the past. But after reading this I guess I won't buy this game until it gets decent treatment here. I won't buy it on Steam either, because I simply want a client-free installer.

Well - It's their loss. Treat your costumers bad, and costumers run away and refuse to buy. That's how stuff works...
The funny thing is you have people blaming THQN for this situation, when it was totally PB. They chose to reduce their dev team for Elex 2 down to around 2 people. That wasn't a THQN decision.

They've apparently gone on record saying Elex 2 was successful enough they'll be making Elex 3. I think I'm going to pass on any further PB games. It's obvious that they care less about shipping a working product than they do about day one sales.
This is a GOG issue as well (like it or not) I am as anti-DR as the next GOGlodyte, but I have often come up against the issue of patches being released late on GOG (months after Steam!). Now, they say they wont even bother on GOG? GOG needs to address this or more and more people will be using Steam (than are now even). I buy on GOG to support GOG, but will not do so if it ruins or delays my purchase experience.

I just bought a new nvidia 3070 to run Elex 2. My old card wouldn't even render some things. Now I find out that its partially an optimization issue?

The DX12 patch isn't getting released at all now, regardless of platform.
Regardless of the DX12 patch, there is still a crashing issue. It seems to happen when you hit L35 +/- .... likely due to the number of objects you have interacted with and the save file size? I don't know, I'm not a programmer.

Still need a fix on ALL platforms.

Good luck. They have one programmer on the Elex 2 team. Everyone else moved onto Elex 3.

Screw Elex 3. I am done with P.B. (irredeemable,) and I am especially done THQ Nordic (for VARIOUS reasons, at this point.) Also, apart from the bugs and lack of access to the beta patch, they implemented a political agenda in E2 which doesn't make sense being that it wasn't in E1, so even if they actually fixed this game (which I doubt they ever will, at this point,) they wrecked the story. Thank the gods that there are other indie companies out there who strive to make and release good games.

I will also avoid pre-paying for a game until the day I die. Rarely did I do that (Castlevanis - SOTN for PS4 and Elex II are the ONLY games I ever pre-paid for.) I learned my lesson. It sucks for other companies that I have to take this stance due to abuse/theft from THQ/P.B. I have been wanting to play Death Trash, but I will wait until it is finished, because I do not want to get robbed and burned, again.

Totally understandable and I agree. I do pre order occasionally, but very very few times will I do so.

This wasn't the first game I pre ordered that shipped incomplete and stayed that way. Lesson learned again.

What I, too, found odd about Elex 2 among other things was in part, it's political nature. I also noticed it wasn't present in Elex 1. Come to think of it, there's a lot about the characters, setting, and politics of Elex 2 I really couldn't stand.
What political stuff are you referring to? Honest question. I hate how politics is in everything today... but I must be subliminally ignoring it in Elex 2...

There is no way that I can get into it without getting banned.
So, THQ/P.B. laughably uploaded the WRONG version of the DX12 patch (as admitted by Zyddie over at Steam.) Of course, Steam got preferential treatment and the proper patch was uploaded. However, no word on whether or not GOG has been fixed. Does anyone know what is up with the GOG patch?
