I don't know if anyone else has encountered this issue, but very often when I open the adjutor, the game comes to a screeching halt. I can't tab over to different categories of the inventory, nor can I tab over to different menus. All of my inputs are either severely delayed or not registered at all, forcing me to do a hard shut down of my PC. If I do manage to exit the adjutor screen, the game continues to lag for several minutes afterwards. I'm running this on a gaming laptop, so I don't think my specs are the issue. Has anyone else experienced this?

Not seeing that at all here. One thing to remember is that "gaming laptops" are not the same as a desktop you might assemble yourself for gaming--the desktop will run rings around it. Even if the GPU model nomenclature, for instance, is the same as it is for the discrete GPU products, only with an "M" for "mobile" after, you can bet it will almost always be far less powerful than the discrete desktop GPU that shares the same model number. Anyway, I would not think this has anything to do with your problem, though.

But this does sound odd, and as I'm not seeing it, and I don't see other posts reporting this, it just might be something relative to your system. I'm running on the latest version of Win10x64--so you might want to check your OS version and your software running when you run the game...It's barely possible that this is a game bug relative only to your particular hardware configuration, but with today's OSes that sort of bug is very rare indeed. And, if you are overclocking anything, stop and reset all clocks to default, of course. Also, make sure you have decent AV program running, etc. Standard Defender in Win10 works extremely well and is completely non-invasive, I've found. Hope you can square it away...;)

Hey, thanks for the response! I think the power of my laptop might be a factor, as you pointed out. It's not exactly a top-tier machine. I am running the most recent version of Windows 10x64, so I don't think that's the problem. I have just recently noticed, though, that this issue only occurs after 1-2 hours of gameplay, at which point I usually try to quit and let the computer rest for about an hour before playing again. Perhaps it's the universe's way of telling me to do other things :) Now that I have figured out the timing, it's fairly easy to work around, but still a bit annoying. I wasn't able to find anything about this issue elsewhere, so it's probably unique to me. It doesn't make the game unplayable (I've already been able to log about twelve hours), but it forces me to take breaks. The game is good enough that I'm willing to put up with it. It's not exactly a solution, but it does work.

Glad to make a suggestion and wish I had more I could do...;) From the further information you've supplied, it seems fairly obvious that it's an overheating issue relative to your hardware--because the symptoms are repeatable and always happen after a period of time when running the game. This isn't at all uncommon for laptops, I've found, and unless the issue is really bugging you to the extent that you'd consider opening the case and possibly installing some extra cooling hardware--I really wouldn't worry too much about it...;) If you're OK with the situation, then you maybe can just chalk it up to the joys of laptop ownership, I suppose...;)

Sorry to chime in late to the party, but Elex, at least on PS4, has a documented memory leak, and has to be restarted every couple of hours. I'm not positive, but I thought I heard the memory leak was across all 3 platforms (PC, PS4, XBone) - this would cause the lag you're describing.

Also, on PS4, the adjutor lags every time you open it for anywhere from 2 seconds to 10 seconds, depending on how long you've been running Elex. Not sure if it's a factor in certain pc setups.

Still, it sucks you've been having to deal with it. on PS4 Slim, if you try to go across the map when it's zoomed in, it crawls super slowly. There's other stuff too, like lag spikes which seem hard coded into the game.

I got my PS4 copy for $30. I don't regret a penny, despite it bugging out at points. It's easily one of the most engrossing games I've played in recent times, in a way that's similar to Morrowind but with that sci fi feel of a post modern apocalyptic wasteland.

I kind of regret not getting it on pc, because I hear it runs at 60 fps more easily, but.... I'm about 35 hours in so far on ps4, and I don't want to start over.

*UPDATE*

Sorry, I totally forgot about this post, but I wanted to post the solution that I found for this issue after quite a bit of Google searching. There is a memory leak present in the game's autosave feature, apparently, so if you disable autosave you don't have to restart every couple of hours like Levsus mentioned. This worked for me, at least. I haven't had any issues running the game since I disabled the autosave in the options menu. Just remember to manual save often :) Hope this helps!
