ELDERBORN has a few meta-achievements that seem to trigger inconsistently.

No chest left behind
Gather essence from every chest in ELDERBORN.

I'm Winston Wolf. I solve problems
Purge all enemies in ELDERBORN.

These two didn't unlock, even though I completed the requirements twice on separate saves in single playthroughs and got the corresponding individual achievements they're comprised of (get all chests/kill all enemies in chapter 1/chapter 2). I eventually unlocked these when I replayed the game again on a wiped save with default settings.

The Elderborn
Unlock all achievements.

I can't unlock this at all. Naturally I got all the other achievements already. May pop on a completely clean default save redoing everything, but I don't feel like wasting time to test that.

EDIT: In case the game gets updated, these are the versions I tested. Played primarily on the current version but loaded my saves on older ones to try triggering something. Didn't help though.

1,037 from 2021-08-04 (current)
1,05 from 2021-02-25
1.037 from 2020-06-01

My savegames were incompatible with versions older than that, so I didn't try them.

I just unlocked The Elderborn! I got it by satisfying the conditions for all the achievements in 1 new file in the course of 2 playthroughs, while leaving the game open until I completed everything on version 1.037.

I started a new game on Normal difficulty with Ironman mode on.

I completed the first playthrough without leveling up, killing every enemy without respawning, opening every essence chest, and collecting every piece of lore.

On the second playthrough in New Game+, I leveled up and finished all the Codex entries I missed, which included all the Enemies entries (kill enough of each type), Challenge entries (includes all unlockable abilities), and Weapons entries (get 100 kills with every weapon except the power mace).

The achievement popped at the beginning of the credits sequence on the second playthrough.

tldr: To unlock The Elderborn, you need to satisfy the conditions for all the other achievements in a new file, in the span of two playthroughs, with ironman mode enabled. I left the game open from the beginning of the first playthrough to the credits of the second playthrough, and I used version 1.037.

Good luck!

Great, and so my easter weekend activites changed. Just made my battle plan, I hope that I haven't unlearnt the game too much in the past 6 months.

Still undecided on which version I will play - there have been two updates 1,07 and 1,08 on GOG since back then. I may try the current version 1,08.
Just to be perfectly clear, did you play on 1,037 or on the even older 1.037 as you wrote? No idea why they used virtually the same version number for two releases, it's confusing.
The version I played was actually version 1,08.

Sorry for posting the wrong version earlier.

Thanks for the clarification.

I was just about to start my run, using version 1,08. Tried with my old savegames but it didn't trigger there. However, as soon as I started the game after erasing my save files to have a clean slate, suddenly the achievement popped right in the main menu. I suppose it uses the achievements status from Galaxy as opposed to some builtin save data. Neat, I think this means they really fixed the issue!
