Morrowind crashes constantly. I have it installed on the G drive under GOG games. My computer specs are;

Ibuypower FR960X-1 Gaming PC with Intel Core i7-5960X 8-Core Processor, 32GB DDR3 Memory, 2TB Hard Drive + 240GB SSD Drive, Blu-Ray Combo Drive, Nvidia GTX980 Graphics, Liquid Cool, Windows 7, 64 bit.

I set the compatibilty to Win XP service pack 3 and I changed the screen resolution to 600 x 800. But have not tried playing sense changing the screen resolution.

1. a swap file is hard drive space dedicated to act as additional memory but those specs that shouldn't be a concern IMHO

2. (just a tip- resolution is "width by height" -WxH-)

you may want to try MGSO (in the stickied threads at the top) it is a bit involved but it does guide you though the process of optimizing the game & cut down on the crashes.

Swap files (called Virtual Memory now) is used by windows in addition to RAM. Even though you have 32 GB, the game will probably not use more than 2 GB.

Some SSD software reduces the Virtual Memory (aka Swap File) size to prolong the drive's life. However, it can cause games to crash. Try changing the Virtual Memory to Windows Controlled and see if it works for you.

This is normally only a problem with newer games, but worth a try.
Changing the resolution to 800 x 600 has stopped the crashes so far. I just finished playing for 2 hours with no crashes. My video drivers are up to date so I don't know why the low resolution fixes it. Maybe the game thinks my video card is too low. But the crashes have stopped, so I'm happy with the fix.

Thank you guys for your help.

Glad you're happy, but I wouldn't call running a post-1998 3D-game at 800x600 a "fix".
