I am attempting to change the music sound card to Soundblaster [it's set to mpu-401 by default and there isn't a game settings shortcut like there is with Daggerfall] What i am doing is, I am going into the DOSBOX folder and typing mount c ..
and then running install.exe, telling it where the root folder of the game is, and changing the music card to sound blaster, and telling it to save.

But whenever I open arena using the desktop shortcut it plays the stock mpu-401 music.

Yet, when i open up install.exe again using the method described above the cards are configured exactly as I saved them.

It's driving me bananas!

if you're running the game through dosbox your best bet would be to use virtualmidisynth & midimapper.
