Pretty much what I said. Shortly after starting the game, the game just quits.

Tried different settings (mostly graphic modes) and both fullscreen and windowed with the same results.

I'm using Windows 11.

Is there something with the DOSBox build that GOG uses? How can I get this fixed?

Not quite - "at start" is not the same as "shortly after start".
Please describe what exactly you do and see, and what happens. And did you change any DOSBox parameters / settings or game settings? And I assume "quits" means a crash where Redguard disappears suddenly and you're thrown back to the desktop, no error message.
And do you use Galaxy?

Generally, Redguard runs fine "out of the box", and Win11 isn't an issue. Due to lack of personal experience I can't say if this is true when you launch Redguard under Galaxy.

If I keep the game at fullscreen, the screen goes black and then goes back to the desktop. Same with windowed. Said window stays on for a couple of seconds at best.

I tried with default settings and changing the graphic renderer (for DOSBox) to opengl and it didn't work either.

And yes, I used Galaxy to launch it.

If you need more info, just ask.
Like I said, I have no experience with Galaxy at all. If you want to make sure it's not Galaxy, you could try to run the game independantly of Galaxy. If it's enough to run the game's launcher directly, or if you better uninstall the game in Galaxy and then instasll the direct cownload version, I don't know. Do the latter, if you want to be sure.

Your description is still incomplete: You click Launch or Play in Galaxy (whatever it's called there), and then what happens? When exaclty does you screen go black? What do you do or see before it goes black? Do you get as far as the game's main menu before it goes black? ...

Long story short, first a DosBox window appears, then the screen goes black, and it goes back to desktop. I don't even get to the main menu.

Tried it out of Galaxy. The windows shrinks and goes green before closing.

OK, thanks. Did you search the internet, for something like "redguard crash", or this forum for "redguard"? You might find help there.
I remembered a thread from 2019 where a similar problem was reported and I tried to help with a few suggestions (title: "I am giving up on Redguard"). Without success as it seems, but it might be worth reading the posts of this thread. At the time it looked like a 3DFX / Glide problem..
In addition I saw that trying to run Redguard without using DOSBox (which should be possible, as it is a Windows game) is likely to be impossible, as the redguard.exe requires the game CD (a request DOSBox circumvents by providing an emulated CD drive with a game iso).

For you, it wouldn't harm to try to run the redguard.exe directly (in Windows Explorer, it's in the Redguard folder underneath your GOG game folder). If you get to the game's main menu, you know your PC can run Redguard. Launching Redguard from this menu will almost certainly fail, because you don't have the CD. You can even have a look at the Options menu, but I don't think a parameter change there will help.

I'm almost certain there is a solution for the problem, if it's a 3DFX / Glide problem indeed (play with DOSBox and/or with Glide, try dgvoodoo2, ...), but I don't think I can be of much help in my remote position. Sorry.
