Swissy88: Another game that requires hours of setup to even play the game on a modern system.
Foh. I have shit to do, I can't just sit here for hours doing literally nothing but set up a game with grueling annoying dated interfaces.
Sucks for multi monitor, can't alt tab for shit, mouse constantly disappearing, shocker. No one mentions this, just cream their jimmies about some old game on your pentium that you still have from 20 years ago.
Are you talking about problems you've encontered yourself, or is it all based on hear-say?
Oblivion was first released 2006 and represents the technology of 2005/6 (and quite well), What do you expect?
With that said, on my Win10 64bit PC installation is quick and painless, launches out-of-the box - no further work required. I can alt-tab and my mouse doesn't disappear. I must confess that I'm one of these dinosaurs from long forgotten times who are happy with using one monitor only.
Oblivion does have its problems, but most of them are on the software side and have nothing to do with aged vs. modern technology.
To avoid more suffering from out-of-date technology, I strongly recommend to keep away from software developed in times where this out-of-date technology was "modern". And bear in mind that whatever you consider "modern" today will be stone-age in 15 years, probably much earlier.
Leave it to other people to enjoy games for reasons which have nothing to do with "modern" or old technology.
