So, has anyone gotten their mods to work with Skyrim SE? I downloaded a couple from Nexus and can't get them to work.

I'm using Mod Organizer 2.

I'm using SKSE.

I updated my registry file path.

Been trying everything I could with no results.

Try manually to instal 1 mod on a clean game and see if it works. Don't use MO2 or SKSE or anything else. Just clean game and manually drop the mod whethever it says you have to

Many Mods will not work without the proper SKSE Version. That why SKSE exist.
People in another thread were telling me that Mod Organizer 2 isn't supported or doesn't work yet, and to try Vortex. I'll try it with Vortex and report back with my findings.

The SKSE version I'm using was the one that was labeled for the GOG release, and my version number matches the one that they recommended.

I am having this same issue, have you been able to have any success?
Yes! I got everything to work simply by using Vortex from Nexus mods.

I have been using Mod Organizer 2 for years, but it's NOT supported by the GOG release of Skyrim SE for whatever reason.

Vortex is the ONLY mod manager that supports modding with Skyrim SE. It's incredibly easy to set up and you can manage things manually or by linking to your Nexus account.

So, install Skyrim SE, install Skyrim Script Extender, then install Vortex and follow the instructions.

Bear in mind, some mods need to be updated to work with this version. I found a couple of mods that simply don't work on the GOG version. 95% of what I installed seem to work, though! So yay. Hope that helps.
I manually installed mods, the main problem is the only mod that I really want is SSE Display Tweaks, not working for the gog version.
Make sure the mod is for Special Edition and not Legendary Edition. If you provide link to a mod, can tell you if it is correct.

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/34705?tab=description

It is not compatible but it's for special edition.
I have a question. I have these unofficial patches installed along with Skyrim Script Extender, and SKSE Address library via Vortex:

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/266

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/18975

My question is, Vortex reports the unofficial patches as installed and working, but how do I tell in game if they are working or not for sure? Is there a way to do that?

Thanks in advance for answers.

When you start a new game, it'll say "Start a new game? Mods are currently loaded. Note: Achievements are disabled." (See attached screenshot)

If you want to explicitly confirm that (for example) Unofficial Patch is working, start a new game with the mod, play until you can quick save (immediately after customization), save and quit. Disable the mod, open the game, and load the save. You should see "This save relies on content that is no longer present. Some objects may no longer be available. Continue Loading?" with a list of the previously enabled mods.

Just tested this, and the patches are indeed working. Much thanks for the help, as i've never done much mod installation on Bethesda rpgs.

I'm having a Problem with mods. They don't work at all.
I installed skse64_2_02_02_gog, I'm using Vortex.
I was trying to install SkyUI_5_2_SE and Alternate Start - Live Another Life but the game ignores all settings and starts as vanilla without any error message.
What am I doing wrong?

When i used "Alternate start" from one of the mirror sites on nexus it worked for me.

U can find those at the "DESCRIPTION"page of the mod

I've found the Solution.
It was Problem with deployment method in Vortex.
I had to set Vortex-Mod folder (in Vortex "Settings->Mods") to the same disc as the Game.
I've installed Skyrim in e:\Program Files so I've set the folder to "e:\SomethingSomething\mods".
