So I started a new playthru of Oblivion, and I finally made my way to Skingrad. I walk into the city and notice that there is absolutley NO ONE wandering around. Just a couple of guards standing at their posts. First instinct was "Oblivion engine issues", but then I hear a voice behind me, and who is it? Good old Glarthir! I had completely forgotten about the crazy elf! He starts spouting off about meeting him at midnight and I figure, "yeah sure". I'm role playing my character.

The weird thing though... once I meet up with at night, he's kind of right as the city is kind of strange. No one walks around the city during the day... there's a strange alchemist that talks about necrophilia... the priest at the chapel insists on me calling him "Your Eminence"... little things like that. So I go ahead and follow the first person around, and while I'm following her, I notice someone following me. Yep... completely forgot about that guy that wants to talk to me about Glarthir. However I'm roleplaying the character, so as far as I can tell, the damned City Watch is in on it too, and the crazy kook of an elf is right. I ran around the city staying away from him, and eventually when into the temple. He didn't go in there for some reason. Must be because of the holy ground.

Not only that, but that Bernadette lady I was following obviously has teleportation powers. She was in the field for a while working, then all of a sudden she appeared in the stable to eat. Never saw her walk across the field. All I did was turn around to pick some flowers for not even 10 seconds. Then when I headed back to the city after getting tired of watching her, she immediately appeared in doors when I walked in.

So yeah... helping Glarthir is the right thing to do. For now.
:DDD THat's such a fun(ny) way to look at it.
Like most players, I always was, like, "... hmpf ... AI's totally screwed ... pretend it didn't happen ..."
If you continue to play like you do, I fear for your characters sanity (what he himself probably does already). Good luck to the both of you.

I might pop in a couple of more. I use the Journal mod to keep track of what's going on in the game, just for keeping up with the creative writing that I'm sorely out of practice with. I'm still trying to figure out what in-game reason there is for everyone to have such similar voices. Magical cloning by the Empire?
