I am curious to know if the Battlespire Multi-player feature is easier to use through the GOG version vs. a physical copy. I own Battlespire on CD and find it incredibly difficult to set up a Multi-Player Match through DOS-BOX. Is the hassle the same with the GOG version? This will definitely define whether I purchase the game or not through GOG

Battlespire multiplayer is quite easy once you have ipx enabled in DOSBox. Like all GOG Games you can use the client/server shortcuts it installs to play.

Thank you for the reply! I have the original and may grab it on GOG. What is a couple bucks when it makes things easier. Will be grabbing this and Redguard. Even though I own both on CD, Redguard is hellatious to get set up and working right and is riddled with tons of bugs so this may make it a bit easier.

Thanks again for your help! I greatly appreciate it!

Just remember, if you want someone to play with ... think of me. ;)

What are people using nowadays to play IPX games over TCPIP? I think it used to be Kali a while back, but not sure what is current.

Kali is still up and running and works quite well for Window games and if you have an older machine dos games. I played Battlespire a lot on it. Now a days, at least for DOS games people use DOSBox with the built in ipxnet server. For Windows there is a variety of tools such as GameRanger and such.

The things you learn! That is pretty neat about the inbuilt DOSbox IPX emulation--last time I played with DOSbox straight up it didn't have such features.
