So my friend and I are trying to play a multiplayer game of Battlespire. One of us selects Network Host, then starts a multiplayer session (gets into the chatroom after character creation and junk). Then, the second player selects Network Client. When asked to input IP address, we have tried just about everything. We have tried inputting our IP addresses (googled), the default (127.0.0.1), but to no avail. Is there something we are missing? The client's game simply states it could not connect to the IP address when Battlespire launches, and the host's game does not appear.
Did you check firewall settings? Perhaps firewall is blocking connection.

I can play other multiplayer games fine. What sort of settings would we need for the old MPlayer TC/IPX?

Perhaps you need to manually add DOSBox and Battlespire executables to list of allowed applications in Firewall. Other multiplayer games usually connect to servers, which are auto-accepted by most firewalls because of digital signatures and various such things.

If it doesn't work then do your firewall logs show any attempts of making connections?

Had to do some searching through AVG, but I added Battlespire to my Firewall list. I will give it a go. Many thanks!
