My problem is when I'm making my own character class and I select light armor and iron as things I cannot equip as disadvantages, the game starts and I can't equip a Dwarven longsword or Elvish bow. Neither of those things fall into the categories I'm restricted against, I don't understand what I'm missing here. I chose High Elf as the race but it doesn't say anything about that race not being able to equip certain items...

Already replied in the General Forum thread, will reply here as well.
The restrictions in Battlespire is that you cannot equip items of said material or higher. So if you choose iron as your restriction, you can't equip anything. If you choose Dwarven as the restriction, you can equip iron, steel, silver, elven but not those of dwarven quality or higher.
Battlespire is weird like that because I know for a fact that Daggerfall's material restrictions didn't work like that.I have yet to pick these game up yet but did they happen to fix the Chimera of Desolation bug.
Ahh it all makes sense now, thank you so much!

Battlespire level 5? It is still crash prone, and there are graphical glitches, but assuming you are careful with your saves, you should be able to pass it.

I'm on level 4 now, so that will be coming soon. Just so I'm sure - I've read about the bug, and apparently it's triggered only when the game is reset. So if I'm always careful about reloading the game before I die, then I can just save all the times I want and never see the bug, right?

I'll give myself a treshold of about 25% health before reloading, just to be sure. It will be a little annoying because so many times I've fought to the brink of death, but that's better than getting a corrupted save, or having to restart a big chunk of the level because I can only save few times.

I was lucky enough to not encounter said bug, though I did keep the number of saves low (one at the start of the level, one when I was going to try something, another after any milestone), but you should be able to keep a copy of your saves, just in case something goes wrong. Hope you get through the level without problems :)
