Any chance this will run using a video card with only 128mb ram or is 256mb absolutely necessary?

I don't know, I never tried.

I love both (E&H:TB and E&H:HNE), but the truth is they are buggy.
And have little support from the developers.

Even if you make E&H start bellow minimum settings you can hit all kind of new bugs.

May be you should delay this buy.
