Hi all,
for a long time now I have been thinking about buying Earth 2140.
Its was so incredible good 15 years ago. I would like to play it again, but never made it work on my own with the original CDs on my Windows XP. Unfortunately I was one of the stupid ones buying Earth Universe Edition and getting deeply disappointed by the Windows-XP-Version of Earth2140 -.-

As far as i read here on GOG, Earth 2140 includes the Dos Version with an working AI.

Now my question:
Have I to install and setup DosBox on my own after buying the game here (so the same as if I just use my own CDs) or is it somehow included and simply working without too much trouble? ;) So can I just start the game and enjoy it again as back in the late 90s?

I thank you very much for your answers.

Best Regards,
Andreas

GOG package their games with DOSBox and preconfigured .conf files. They also provide shortcuts to run the game and to tweak the .conf setup, but you can just edit the .conf file yourself if you need to squeeze a little more performance out of it, but they do design them to try to run 'out of the box' as it were, so install and then run.
Does GOG's DOS version of E2140 run as smoothly as the windows version? I've tried dosbox my version but game's speed was constantly changing between very slow and very fast, which makes it unplayable.
