Any chance that GOG could get the old DOS version,
and release it on GOG, sort of like how they did with
the original Broken Sword?

I see that both versions are able to be played, as a new player to this series which version do you think I should start with? What are some of the differences betweeen the two versions?

Between Earth 2140 Windows and DOS version?
Well, the Windows version is supposed to be optimised and stuff and on the other hand DOS version has slight bonus in working AI. In Windows version AI does nothing. Units just hang around and comuter players build no units, harvest no resources and nothing.
So if you want to play game instead of just going through it, definitely play DOS version.

Cool, thanks for that. My mind is made up: DOS all the way.

Cheers!
