Whenever I attempt to play any cutscene in Earth 2150: Lost Souls, I just see a blank screen followed by a skip over to the actual gameplay. This isn't a critical problem, but I'd like to know what I'm missing.
These WD1 files perplex me. I can't play them manually from the windows directory, no matter what software I use. I noticed that this was true for the Moon Project too, but at least with that expansion the movies would still play in-game. Does anyone know what might be causing this or how to fix it?

Have you got windows media player updated? I think thats what this game uses to run these videos.
Also if you back one of these files up and then convert it to say avi or mp4 will it then play in windows media player?
If you have ffdshow you might want to check if the .exe in question is added to the exceptions list.

Windows Media Player is fully updated, and I think that's the problem. The WD1s appear to have been meant for an earlier version of Windows Media Player that isn't compatible with my computer.
I also tried converting a file to avi format, to no avail. The best I could manage was sound with no picture.

Information on the ffdshow pack
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/ffdshow.htm
If it is a codec problem which is possible I would advise gettting k lite codec pack
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/k_lite_codec_pack.htm
Its should have most the codecs you will ever need including ffdshow. So if it is a codec problem with why the games cutscenes won't play installing the k lite codec pack should solve it.
It's nice when things automagically fix themselves. Thanks Namur & Ralackk for the ffdshow pack suggestion. I installed it, didn't touch it, and suddenly earth2150 cutscreens and intro video play. I have high hopes that I'll even be able to start the first mission!

Much appreciated.
