Back on the subject of winning already....

I was playing a Small shard just now and two lords were present. One turned out to be a Beginner Local Lord, the other just happened to be Orionor. Guess what? The local lord *beat* him. XD

Either Orionor got a real crappy start, got plagued by negative events, or just did terrible somehow, but the Beginner AI managed to defeat him before I could so much as catch a glimpse of his provinces or his heroes o_O

Interesting. I think I played that shard a few days ago. I distinctly remember Oinor and a Local Lord because it was such a strange matchup after only meeting masters for a while. I wonder how much is randomly generated. Terrain, but perhaps not enemies - or at least not 100% random. Or maybe it has a selection of possible matchups to pick from for different sizes.

Anyway in my game the Local Lord played as expected, which was weak. When I got all across the map to him (late after meeting Oinor in another corner first) he had managed to take all of 5 provinces ^^ But interestingly enough Oinor also did bad in that game. One of the few games where I've grown big faster than a competent or better AI and could steamroll him without building lots of outposts and defending for a long while.
