Keiyan: Basically, I've just tried it during 15 minutes. Result : I'm back to genesis.

Maybe in 6 months it will be ready for publishing, but as it is now, I do not encourage buying. Take genesis, the UI is a thousand times better (what the fuck is this building wheel ?), and the game do not make your rig cry for mercy (graphics are pretty, yes, but really Under-optimized).

First impression is really bad. I'll try it again after one or two patches.

Can you tell me whats you gpu and whats your fps you were having?

I'm doing the tutorial at the moment (Just killed the three goblins) and the game seems to be running fine for me. I do not have a frame rate counter, however.

I like the tool tips, I can scroll the main map and tactical map in and out with the mouse wheel; the movement animations in battle seem a tad slow, but I want to compare it to to other games like FE, before I make a definitive statement.

Intel i7, Win7 Pro 64 Bit, nVidia 570 GTX, 12 GB RAM.

One odd thing-I set the graphics for the highest setting, but when I went through the menu and selected 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz, clicked 'OK' and then went back to verify (because I didn't get the usual 'Game will have to restarted before changes can take effect' message), the refresh rate went back to 23 Hz, which appears to be the default. Strange that it won't accept the change. That said, the picture seems fine to me.

Garran: "DLC" is also used to describe traditional expansions nowadays. In the case of a game like Eador, they're also likely to be the practical option, since micro-content (unless it's purely cosmetic stuff) would only complicate multiplayer balance.

ambient_orange: What are you talking about? DLC is pure evil. It never gives good content. A game can have 5-15dlc.. A real game will have 1expansion, 2 at most!

Thats the difference between big content and small rip off. DLC is always - either useless, or mandatory. But in both cases its like 1/5th of the game. Thats why its a rip off!!
I wouldn't say they never give good content. I prefer a full expansion myself, but have paid for several smaller DLCs in the past that were much better value than most full expansions. These days the line often blurs, and I think you just have to judge what is and isn't a good value. The bigger issue to me is whether it feels like it is a true update/addition or just milking the customer. There's nothing wrong with giving people the option for more of the same, but generally I feel like those types of DLC are very over priced. In the end, it's all on how the buyer feels about it.

Gremlion: b)Gemcraft2 http://gameinabottle.com/blog/ Probably best tower defence game in a world, I would gladly buy premium content in it on release. (There is no preordering). This lone dev made regular posts about each milestone during development.
Have you played Defender's Quest? It's available here and it's very good tower defense game?
Thanks for mentioning this one, it looks interesting and this is the first time I heard of it.

wrongsprite: Way I see it, if the beta is still buggy, so what? Obviously any problems that came up in the beta they're just going to fix for the main game release, instead of bothering with updating a beta which will soon be obsolete.
Are you aware this game was already released today?

Its not about how buyer feels about. If devs starts liking making dlc, they most likely will never make a solid big expansion for same game. And its just not right. Great game deserved great expansion, not small dlcs that grow up on game like mushrooms :D
Well, the first "bug" I noticed is the manual - its filename is misspelled. Apparently we're to become Masters of the Broken "Owrld". ;)

Not sure if that would have anything to do with the Nvidia card /(ref. dev post that says Nvidia drivers caused them headaches). I haven't got the game yet, but the final beta ran at 59 Hz refresh on my Radeon HD7870 card just fine. Didn't try to change it to anything else, though, but that was the game default.
FPS gets much worse if you set shader quality to low which is weird.

Otherwise things seem ok? fps is 20s-30s with a colossal map and ultra setttings which is about what i get with fallen enchantress.
I´m so glad I read the comments about this bugged release here and on the steam forums. And again it was shown to me - never do a pre-order. Too sad - I had hopes for this game. But no MP? Esp. no Hot-Seat results in a no-buy. Now I have to warn my friend with whom I wanted to play this game. Not that he buys it in this state. Thx. for the warnings.
That's so sad, I was really looking forward to this one, thanks for the warnings guys.
What actual problems are people having? Because I haven't seen any so far (playing through my first map).

Maybe I'm weird but I'm finding the ui ok (more intuitive in some ways) which was my main worry from posts here.
So far, I am on the first shard of the campaign and the game runs great, no bugs found. :)

Perhabs you should consider giving this game a chance? Found no bugs until now from my side and the game is working great. Some comments are as always done by people searching for the greatest game ever and for this they are going to search a lifetime and longer.

The last pre-order here on GOG was "Legend of Grimrock" and this was also great,
