Gremlion: commander have + armor skill, warrior have precision strike(ignore some armor), this skill works only on attack. So, even with bare hands straight attack will do more damage to armored target.

ambient_orange: Oh do you really mean i was counterattacking 0 because of commander skill??
And because if you had precise strike it only works when you attack - not when you counterattack.
Didnt knew these things! Sounds like i will be more carefull vs commanders from now on..
You did 0 damage because your counterattack value was lower than the enemy's defense value, it's not something the commander was really responsible for. Also, gargoyles will drain your weapon durability very quickly, which is likely why it broke later.

Alright.. i think im in trouble for real.. :D Shard vs shard. I mean my vs enemy. And i was not rushing, thought i will loot some legendaryt items. But there is big problem i cant win no matter what. Enemy castle is defended by 6ogres. And i cant do anything with my warrior( i can take lvl1 mobs with me, its no difference)

Tried making him run out of money, but he kept resurrecting heroes like popcorns.. Then i assaulted his castle and my warrior died. He took a lot of land and now its fight vs forts.. and he is dragging this fight for eternity..

My castle is defended by some 6 ancient stone golems. So its fine but i cant win vs those 6ogres.
The ability of the AI to build pretty powerful guards in his home province is one of the few annoying parts of this game... It's also hilarious when he starts having minotaur guards for the first time.

That said there are always ways to handle it. Ogres are very susceptible to Web spell (although 6 of them is hardcore), and also if you can just stall him, and keep leveling your hero you will eventually be strong enough to take them out (and the rest of his lands along the way). A highlevel (20-30) Warrior can solo pretty much anything other than giant spiders or another equally leveled warrior.

But yeah it's a bit annoying when it turns into a slugfest like that... Also if you can stall him and explore between killing his hero at the forts you can find some good stuff in the locations, potentially giving you an edge like Minotaurs.
I'm pretty sure an Archmage with Cloud of Terror could insta-win a battle against six ogres. Never tried it, but I bet it would work.
A sizable group of ogres is a very difficult opponent for a warrior due to the massive damage they deal in melee. My advice would be to use your warrior to keep your opponent contained (take provinces, build forts so he can't take them back easily, then slowly just close in around him). While doing this, level up another hero better suited to dealing with a guard of ogres. A high-level archer with good gear can be good for this, as they can almost one-shot ogres (with double-shot); this works even better if you can start the battle with a mass slow to give you twice as much time to pick off the ogres. A mage can also be incredibly effective if you load him out with spells that damage morale (such as Fear and Cloud of Terror). Unlike stamina, morale doesn't regen during the fight, so once you've dropped an ogres morale to 0 he's effectively out of the fight (and they have much lower morale than they do HP). You'll probably need a mage at lvl 20 for double cast to pull this off, but if you can get your opponent contained you'll have all the time you need to level up a hero to deal with his guards.

It does regen to1 from 0, rate based on how deep into negatives you sent it.

As for ogres - first strike weapon + vampirism.+round attack. Maybe stone skin to survive initial damage.
Sorry was thinking of Trolls not ogres.

Started liking talking with Zarr.. there is quite a bunh of conversations! Another good poing that no other games has it! And there is no reason other games shouldnt have it - its not expensive "technology" to put some lore in games..

Definitely a nice touch.

Campaign mode is long, but it's the most fun IMO.
So funnily enough no sooner did I offer that previous bit of advice than I got a chance to test it out myself, as the last opponent on the shard I was on also had a guard of ogres in his demesne. Won it going in rather unprepared with a lvl 24 archer, decent but non-exceptional gear, and no particularly useful spells. Lost 3 tier-1 units running interference against the ogres when they got close, but my archer and tier-2 units came out of it intact. If I'd been able to pop off a mass slow at the start, or if the terrain had been more accommodating (swamps or forests rather than open plains) it would have been a one-sided slaughter. So the archer strategy definitely does work, even without putting lots of groundwork into it.

Yes i forgot to mention i killed those ogres with archer myself after warrior failing badly..

And since archer owned 6ogres im thinking archer is op too.. so.. kind of want to try him out more often. I just dont have mass slow spells yet.. But i do recruit him as early as possible for scouting those awesome item shops and for leveling up a bit. :)
Im starting playing as archer.. and it seems armorpearcing effect from bow seems obvious choice.. is it correct? :)
Do you mean crossbows?
For sniper - not really, he have precise shot 7, this is enough for 99% enemies in game. Top tier items could add even more.
Bows have advantage of higher range and higher damage(multiplied by morale)
