jamotide: In the video from above you can compare the animation lag:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbWVOi8udzM At 1:10 the units are laggy, and after 4:10 they are smooth after he slowed down the CPU.
I have no animations lag now, my units are moving fast as lightning (I maxed the combat speed ).
Garran: I see the sound/animation issue on my system IF there's something interfering at startup. (Several other graphics-heavy programs or games will do it.) It doesn't happen when there is no such competing program/service, though. I can't help but wonder if there are background services triggering this in some cases - AV, Windows system components, etc.
GOG support says this: "
Eador: Genesis is very sensitive to applications running in the background. If the game's performance is unsatisfactory, please shut down, or at least disable, any unnecessary applications running in the background. This is especially relevant to the Google Chrome browser, but also applies to other background software, like download managers, anti-virus/anti-spyware/anti-malware scanners etc."
