Is anyone else having problems with some options occasionally not sticking? I seem to have a 50/50 chance at the game not launching in full screen (and turning the option off) and/or vsync not working (despite still being set to on in the options; I get terrible tearing with it off, so it's really noticeable when it does this). Has anyone found a solution for this if you've also had the problems? I know I could just go to my nVidia options and force vsync, I'm just wondering if there's any other solutions before I go do that. It also kind of makes me wonder what other options are being ignored or toggled without my knowledge, as the only reason I know about these is because they are so obvious.

For what it's worth, I'm on Win7 64-bit, use UAC, play on a regular user account, and do not launch Galaxy nor the game as an admin (and would prefer not to).

Aaaand as I was typing this, the game got an update, though no release notes yet. Maybe they fixed these issues? (Galaxy says it's version 1.11.1, which looking up in other places says it added a chromatic aberration toggle and a few other things, but GOG launched with a version that already had that toggle, so who knows...)

Same issue with the game always launching windowed in win7 64bit. The game always seems to want to overwrite the config files for some odd reason. I ended up deleting the old video config file then relaunching, making my changes, then exiting the game. After that I made the video config read only. It doesn't always launch in fullscreen yet, but it will go to fullscreen if I enter the options menu, then the game menu and hit esc. Not too sure what that is about, but it is working for me currently. It at least it not changing some of the other video and game options anymore. There were times that it would change the FOV slider back to default as well as a few other options. I'm hoping that a new update fixes this as it is a pain to deal with.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one having these issues, thanks. I just noticed the last few times I played that the option for full screen is always set to off. Like, I go to options, turn it on, leave options, go back to options, and it's set to off again O_o

I was thinking of looking for and setting the config file to read-only as well, so good idea. I'm still stumped by the vsync though. It claims it's on, I've tried toggling it off then on, but still get horrible tearing. Guess I just go force it in the nVidia settings.

Edit: I just found the video config (it has a .scr extension, which is Windows speak for Screen Saver, so you'll have to manually open it in Notepad or other text processor), and I noticed that it first listed all the options with a description, apparently commented out with an exclamation mark, then listed the actual options. In the section that has the actual options, it didn't have Fullscreen() listed at all. I added that and set it to read only, and now it launches properly in full screen every time. It still shows full screen as being off in the options, but who cares?

Not sure what to tell you about v-sync and your issue with screen tearing. I actually haven't had any screen tearing and mostly stay away from v-sync when setting up game configurations.

I was still having problems with it loading up windowed so I gave it another try. Deleted the video config file once more to start fresh, then loaded the game. Then I setup the configuration the way that I wanted and promptly exited the game. After that I forced the video config to be a read only file again. The only difference is that I did not manually edit the video config for fullscreen this time. From the testing that I have tried it appears to be finally fixed and loads fullscreen everytime without issue (this includes after restarting the pc from powering it down). After looking at the video options there are times that it tells me that fullscreen is off, but it is working properly otherwise...
Whelp, even more bizarreness for this game. Forcing vsync to on in the nVidia control panel only seems to work for me if triple buffering is also forced on. I had originally turned it on, because of course, but noticed some input lag and set it back to default (which is either off or app choice, I don't recall). Went back in with only vsync forced and bam, tearing again. So, I forced triple buffering again and all is well (and edited my video config to lower some settings, which got rid of the lag). Now I kind of wonder if vsync would have worked properly with just the in-game setting if I had just forced triple buffering, but it works without tearing now so I'm not messing with it any more.

Edit: *Sigh* I have to take that back. Even with both forced on, I still got tearing the last time I played. I just don't even at this point. Completely random whether vsync will work or not each time I launch, even though nVidia should be forcing it. Is Galaxy interfering with it somehow, maybe?
