Every game needs a bug thread, and since one doesn't exist yet and I have a bug I figured I'd cut the big red ribbon on the topic.

I'm finding many a report of the game not launching correctly, with no real feedback as to why. Solutions are a lot harder to find, and seem to vary. For some they need to install XNA which hopefully the installer provides if you lack it, but I don't really know since I already had it.

For others it seems to be windows 8 related which I qualify for. The solution there is to try compatibility mode with XP SP3. This may be effective for someone, but doesn't appear to address my issue.

I wondered if it was my Intel graphics, but Youtube seems to suggest that many people are playing the game just fine on similar hardware.

So anyone else having issues?

Note this isn't a call for help, or me looking for a resolution. It's just intended to be a place to discuss any issues and eventual solutions.
Yep, same here. Bought the game yesterday in the sale, just doesn't seem to launch. Will have a play around and report back!

(Update)

Downloaded and installed XNAFX Redist 4.0 from Microsoft and job done. (I would post the link but it's not letting me at the mo!)

Don't really know what the application actually does, but if it makes my games work, then it's a thumbs up from me!

Mine is, if you press spacebar at the ESRB warning, the game CTD.

And I still scratching my head on how I can do a very high aerial jump on some area but not on the others...

I noted that you can jump (and even fly) much faster and farther when there are enemies (or flying enemies?) onscreen. So if you want to launch into the atmosphere to reach a difficult spot, do it BEFORE clearing the opposition.

I confirm this. It can be useful sometimes to reach high points
