Okay, so I beat the Dark Sun games ages ago and I would like to play through using the old cheats that you used to use by launching the game with DSUN -k911 -s -p, but I don't know how to use DOSBOX on its own, much less editing parameters to make cheats work. Is it something that is still possible?

It is.
For Shattered Lands, edit the "dosbox_darksun_single.conf" file and change the line that reads "darksun" to "darksun -K911 -s -p"
For Wake of the Ravager, edit the "RAVAGER.BAT" file, and add the parameters to the end.

Thanks a bunch! Now to get something to edit the file with :)

Notepad should do the trick.

I have played this game many times over the years and I remember a couple times being able to get the "All Psionics" starting command to work but for the life of me I am unable to figure out why it will not work with this GOG version in Windows 10 (Game works fine and following your instructions the other start commands -K911 and -S work perfectly. Is there a trick to it? Or perhaps -P no longer works.

my dosbox_darksun_single.conf files contents:

"[ipx]
# ipx: Enable ipx over UDP/IP emulation.

ipx=false

[autoexec]
# Lines in this section will be run at startup.
# You can put your MOUNT lines here.
@echo off
mount c ".."
c:
cls
darksun -k911 -p -a
exit"

[The -a switch skips the intro when launching the game]

Note: I am purposely NOT using the "-s = This lets ALL spell casters have ALL spells" as I find that destroys my enjoyment.

Reference a guide I have used for years:

"-k911 = This is a cheat activation code or DEBUG for this game
-s = This lets ALL spell casters have ALL spells
-p = This lets ALL psionicists have ALL psionics"

It can be fun to play around with that cheat, though maybe not on your main file. It gets you *all* the spells, not just those available to the player; in particular, in Wake of the Ravager, it even gives you 8th and 9th level spells. Here is a sampling of a few of the 9th level spells that are in the game (though not normally accessible):

Meteor Swarm: Acts like Fire Seeds (or whatever the spell is called) in that you can choose 4 target points, and a mini-fireball will detonate in each one. Each fireball has about the area of a real fireball. This spell is probably more useful than the corresponding spell in other AD&D based games, where it generally feels rather lacking.

Time Stop: Gives the caster infinite turns; however, your movement does not get restored after each one. Depending on the situation, this can either allow you to win the battle without enemies getting a chance to retaliate or softlock the game.

Prismatic Sphere: Crashes the game if cast. (Maybe they planned on giving the spell a sane effect, but they ran out of time or resources during development and just chose a level cap so that players wouldn't get access to this spell?)

I agree, it can and I have had fun playing through the game a couple times that way. I just would like a slightly different play through this time :)
Can someone please show an example of what the Ravager.bat file should look like to use cheats?

I'm getting very tired of losing the opening battle every time I try to create my own party because the enemies can take out my created characters in one or two hits and take absurdly little damage when I hit them. I can easily win the fight with thw he default party so I don't see why a created party is so much weaker.
