Hi all

EAX cannot be activated even when the game is supposedly supported by Creative Alchemy. My card is a Sound BlasterX AE-5.

Anyone got lucky enabling EAX here?

I also have the AE-5 and it was pretty simple to activate EAX in Alchemy.
Just click on add and then enter the path where your game is installed (something like C:\GOG\Dungeon Siege 2).
Alchemy will then add the missing dll files and you now just have to activate EAX ingame and you're good to go.

I haven't got the GOG version yet, but I can confirm that it definitely works with Steam and Retail copies using an AE-5 as well.

Steam games have a habit of not showing up in Alchemy when installed. You'll usually need to manually locate and select the game install directory. Some games have a sub-directory with all their .dll files.

Hey, forgot I even asked this here! Problem is that it never enables on my end with alchemy. I will try with the openAl hackey solution. Thanks all!

ok, almost giving up. I extracted the DSOAL files to the dungeon siege directory and the message is still that it does not detect a compatible sound card :(

Weird. It seems to be the only game that fails!

edit: got it! run as administrator. Seems it needs to write on something to enable EAX. Now I am a happy EAX Dungeon Siege player
