devilhood: 3) The Dungeon Keeper GOG install has a file called game.gog which is actually an ISO CD image containing files required for KeeperFX to work properly. You will need to rename this file to game.iso and mount the ISO using appropriate software such as WinCDEmu (open source), Virtual CloneDrive, DAEMON Tools Lite etc.
Where excatly I can find this game.gog file? Can't locate it :/

Can anyone give me some advice as to whether or not this mod would work on Mac OSX? I have the game running fine, I just need to know if it's worth attempting to install this mod.

Thanks in advance!

Neurus_Ex: Hi, I'm one of those guys who got the game with the promo :D

I'm trying to run KeeperFX in my computer and I'm finding some problems with the resolution: I try to set it to 1920x1080 (The screen native) but the ingame graphics are all corrupted (pink and yellow colors everywhere).

I want to think that I have followed all the instructions correctly. Is this a bug or have I touched something that I shouldn't?

devilhood: Pink and yellow doesn't sound good, nor is this something I have experienced personally. I would first try different resolutions. Make sure you're only adding new resolutions to the INGAME_RES and using ALT+R to switch, that way you can test them easily. Ensure that you're writing it out correctly e.g. 1024x768x32 1280x800x32 1920x1080x32
If that doesn't help, try changing the SDL Video driver as I recommended in my guide for fixing other problems.
Oh, well, it was just me forgetting to press alt+r to change the resolution, then messing around with a lot of options to see what happens. It works now (A pity the small size of the GUI, but...)

Yeah the GUI can look very small on high resolutions. Just stick to approximately half of what you're using. 1280x800x32 seems to be the best compromise for me, but I guess it depends on the size of your screen.
KeeperFX does not work for me. I have installed the GOG version, extracted KeeperFX in a separate folder, and tried to use game.gog as an iso to put all the necessary data filed into the KeeperFX folder.

However, the game will not work and will only display an error message suggesting to read the log, which refers to missing files in the data folder. Using the launcher to get the files from the mounted iso also mentions the absence of these files.

So I have tried to open the iso directly with 7z, IZarc and browse through the mounted drive via daemon tools. 7z plain refuses to open the file even after being renamed as a .iso, IZarc and Daemon Tools both can't find the missing files.

I tried reinstalling the game using the GOG installer but it seems the game.gog file is either corrupted or not the right one.

7zip will not open the file.

My game.gog file has a CRC32 checksum of 105F8633 and is 120 MB (126,669,312 bytes). Can you confirm that yours is the same?

Did you rename it to game.iso? I highly recommend trying different software to mount the ISO to see if you get the same results.

I doubt that GOG have tampered with the file in any way because DOSBox itself mounts the game.gog internally, along with the OGG files as audio tracks.

Using the .iso file did not work but using the loader.exe from KeeperFx and targeting the GOG dungeon keeper folder instead of the CD one solved the issue.
Everything works fine for me except the actual in game resolution, whatever I set it to it stays the same. Anyone else having this problem?

UPDATE
Ignore the above it does help if you read the readme file that says to use alt+r to swap between in-game resolutions, just for those that make the mistake I did the game will default to 1024x768x32 you will have to swap using the keys I mentioned.

Also if you are using a 24" monitor that native resolution is either 1920x1200 or 1920x1080 it is best to run the game menu resolution at 640x480x32 otherwise you will not be able to select you mission flags because you wont be able to move the map around.

See the attached image for the settings I'm using that work great on a monitor native resolution of 1920x1200.

Yeah, it is very important not to touch the menu screen resolution from launcher.exe or the FRONTEND_RES in the keeperfx.cfg. It should always be set to 640x480x32.

I updated the guide with mentions to launcher.exe to make it easier. I also added a reminder about the ALT+R resolution switching.

Hi, just tried to run Keeper FX and it threw up the error Error: In source LbBullfrogMain:
2 - Setting up game failed.

I copied (BUT DIDN'T OVERWRITE) all the folders from the iso, so any idea what happened? I'm kinda baffled, because apparently I missed some files, and I don't know how, seeing as I followed your guide step by step...

EDIT: Wait, am I supposed to copy the KEEPER folder from the iso, instead of the DATA, LEVELS, and SOUND sub folders themselves?

EDIT EDIT: OK, so apparently copying and pasting the folders I needed from the GOG directory and then when asked if I want to overwrite any files within saying NO, means it just cancels the operation? But... URGH. Is there a correct way to do this that isn't finding the files I need and copying and pasting just those files?

Not the KEEPER folder, but the folders inside it.

You also need to copy the DATA, LDATA, LEVELS and SOUND folders from the Dungeon Keeper Gold install.

I cant play any of the single player campaign, when I select a the first level the red disc appears then the game closes, I've been using the 0.4.4 complete download and the KeeperFX r1058 patch. The folder that contains KeeperFx is 819MB and 835MB on disk. Anything I might of missed?
