I recently bought DK2 but I can't seem to get it to work, after the bullfrog logo plays and fades away the game completely freezes, sometimes my mouse also freezes resulting in me having to restart the computer.
I put it in compatibility mode with Windows 2000 and ran it in 640x480 as recommended by some who managed to run the game but it continues to crash after the bullfrog logo plays(I tried skipping it, but it just freezes on the bullfrog logo) is there any way to fix this?

This doesn't make sense...

The hardware acceleration fix has nothing to do with DKII or DKII_SOFT.

DKII runs the original executable which only works with Nvidia graphics cards.

DKII_SOFT runs the game in software compatibility mode only. If you're experiencing constant crashes then this might be your only option.

You could also try this updated graphics patch.

Why would this then makes no sense? The Hardware Accleration fix fixes most of the problems. What does this patch does then?

The patch had no effect, the game still freezes after the bullfrog logo, same issue happens when I try to run DKII_SOFT
EDIT:
Okay I got around the issue by deleting the intro cinematics(actually all the cinematics), it looks like the game only freezes when it has to end a cinematic, although I'd still rather actually solve the problem rather than go around it by deleting the cinematics I guess this will have to do for now.
