Try to run the game in Administrator mode. If that doesn't work, try setting compatibility mode to Win2k too (keep admin mode ON, pretty sure the game absolutely needs to run as admin)

The admin mode is like a legendary tail of might and magic here on the forum a drug for all headaches... come on people THINK!!. The admin mode is required to do tasks that require administrative privileges as for example writing to as system protected location as in !!C:\PROGRAM FILES!! If any game or program wants to write there (for example SAVE or STORE CONFIG) it has to be run with privileges that grant it the right to that action. As for you Teoroma, just install the game somewhere else that the system protected directories and it will start fine. As for the stability it's another issue and no admin mode or other computer voodoo wont help you.

Save the game in for example "E:\Program Files (x86)\GOGcom\Dungeon Keeper 2". Only the "Program Files (x86)" on C: are protected by the system.

Actually I had the same issue as him, and my game was not installed in a protected directory (was in C:\Games\Dungeon Keeper 2). It was fixed when I set the game to run in Win2k compatibility mode and enabled "run as administrator" but since I did both at the same time, I'm not entirely sure if they're both necessary or not.
Nope, i have done this:

1-Open the registry editor, go into HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Bullfrog Productions Ltd -> Dungeon Keeper II -> Configuration->Video

2-Find "Engine Id" and change it's value to 4

3-Find "Screen Hardware3D and set it to 0

And this:

1. Right click on the shortcut to Dungeon Keeper 2 and select properties, then click the ‘shortcut’ tab and add “-32biteverything” and “-disablegamma” to the target, both without the commas.

2. Next click the compatibility tab and tick the “run this in compatibility mode” box, then select ‘Windows 2000’ from the list.

3. Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution
Disable visual themes
Disable desktop composition
Disable display scaling on high DPI settings

4. Under the privilege level, tick the box that says ‘Run this program as an administrator'.

Still no change, black screen flickering for 2 seconds and nothing more.

I have tried the workaroud posted here too

We already know. But you can always try.
Even Steam offered a refund for From Dust to people lately because of some copy protection stuff... And on Steam usually all sales are final, too.
