This might be a stupid question, but how do I get my creatures to attack an area far from my dungeon. Is Call to Arms the only way? So if the area is far away beyond highest CtA range, I have to gradually get them using a CtA step by step?

Also, is there an easier way of checking your creature levels, other than the tiny number above them? I wish there was a method of telling you "you have n creatures of x level, m creatures of y level..." etc, so I can pick the ones I want to train.

Yeah, that's how is it supposed to be done. You need to get tile control to drop you units there or to summon them with CtA.
But to attack place outside your tile control and too far from CtA you need to posses one to get ti there.

As for the level thing, can't it be checked through the unit info panel? The one where you pick question mark, click on creature and see a lot of meaningless info? Sure it is even more complciated than to look above their head but it could be alternative.

Thanks, I forgot about Possess. Which reminds me, I wish there was a speed-up speed-down option like in Theme Hospital. It's a bit difficult possessing the unit you want in a congested area, and the walls don't help.

Also, placing rooms tile by tile is a bit tedious, and what is much more tedious is how you must actually place the cursor above the tile you want.

Great game, but again it needs a tiny bit getting used to.

I don't think you need tile control to use CtA, it's just that it is more expensive to maintain it when not on one of your tiles. Also, another way to attack is to use the barracks. There was some discussion around this some time ago:

Yup, I knew that. I believe Vitek meant "You need (to get tile control to drop you units there) or (to summon them with CtA)" and not "You need to get tile control to (drop you units there or to summon them with CtA)".

Thanks. That's very useful. I still haven't reached the level where you can build a barrack, but I'll remember this.

Oh right, yeah that makes sense :)

Ctrl + '+' speeds the game up.

And attacking goes best by just tunneling into their dungeon, triggering an attack from your opponent and throwing all your units in at the border. That way you've killed all his units and you can just take over his dungeon in peace or use CTA to destroy the heart.

Possession - even with the use of the barracks - is never the most convenient way to attack. Many campaign levels can be cheesed through though by digging straight to your rival at the start of the level and posses the creature you brought from the previous/secret realm to kill him before he gets enough creatures to stop that.
This is especially easy if you're not using FX but the regular GOG version because that has a bug that prevents ai-keepers from defending their dungeon heart.
