Hey everyone,

I have been trying to attract the horned reaper for a while, but to no avail. I know you are supposed to drop a bile demon, a mistress, and an orc in the temple (9 tiles minimum), but though the gods are happy when I drop the demon and the mistress in, they do not care about the orc. I tried all possible combinations and timing, but nothing.
Any idea?

By the way, the orc is level 10, the bile demon is level 7, and the mistress is level 5.

Also, I already won the map.
You are making one tiny mistake here: It's a troll not an ork you are supposed to use when summoning the Horny.
So, bile demon, mistress and troll. Level of the creatures or the order of dropping them should not matter from what I know.
EDIT: Horny is always level one when you summon him, so don't waste your levelled up monsters if possible.

the hell he is, tossed in a level 5 bd, level 6 mistress and a level 1-2 troll (they always seem to avoid training room duty for some reason...) and got a level 5 horned reaper. it went in and ripped up everything no problem :D
My mistake, apologies.
I don't have a clear memory on how Hornys level is decided when he's summoned, but It seems probable that it's based on the level of creatures sacrificied.
I've played GOGs DK recently, but nowhere near as much as the original copy when I was younger.
reapers level = (troll level + mistress level + bile dmon level) / 3

same is true for all other creature summons.
The Horned Reaper is more trouble than it's worth. Always unhappy, always infighting, always knocking down your own doors. He's a useless jerk. I'm sick of having to carve him out his own apartment, complete with personal lair, temple, hatchery and training room. When I start with one, I make it a point to kill him as soon as possible.

You're always better off with a vampire. They're free once you get a graveyard, and as long as you keep them away from the idiot warlocks, they're the best thing you can have. Level one up to 10 and keep transferring him, and you'll have a serious edge.
True. But my favorite was always a dragon. I would reinforce all my walls so I wouldn't have to worry about my dungeon, then go first person with the dragon and run around dropping those rubber grenades at the other keepers imps.
The one bonus to this game I liked was that, but did find a vampire to be the best & the horned reaper a pain in the rump roast & the first thing I got rid of.
Although, a lvl 10 imp is also worthwhile to transfer depending on the map. I had them memorized back in the day. Only game I ever played about 15 times.
All creatures are good for something. Personally, the reapers can be serious killers used well. In fact, if you don´t want a reaper, smash him, posess him, and while unhappy, put him on the enemy´s dungeon. It´s devastating :)) Actually is the best you can do with a reaper: posess him.
The different opin ions here, form my experience basiclly point out difference in play/management styles. My xfer preference was the Mistress. Fast hard hitting, fast, resilient and FAST. I think it is nothign more than playstyle differences.

Horney is a PITA, but he is a friggin chainsaw, and can take down a dungeon heart in no time. Well worth it, but they need to be babysat/posessed.

One other thing with sacrifices. I think you can get other high end guys, like Reapers, by sacraficing large volumes of certain creatures. I used to watch my friend toss mistresses i there, took ALOT, but he would end up with a reaper, I swear I remember doing it with Vampires. I wish I know all the combos. As I ousted some bugs and a hellhound and got a mistress. Did it twice in the same level, dont remember the exact combo.
That´s actually true, i first learned the standard number of sacrifices, only to find later than there were other combinations.

Searching info I´ve found this:
http://dungeonkeeper.wikia.com/wiki/Temple

I think there were some more combinations, though.
I have come here just to say.. I have attracted a Horned reaper through the portal on level 14. I secured the gem blocks and fortified my walls, blocking off access to the rival keepers but giving me room to grow inside my walled off area. My wealth grew to over 100,000 easily, even while training 40 creatures after scavenging a load too.

Once my creatures were high level, i basically walked through the green and blue keepers, along the way i noticed the notification that i had attracted the Horned reaper. I did not use the temple.

I think this will have something to do with my wealth, and maybe room sizes as i had over 100,000 for a while before i attacked. But i think he may have been attracted after i started taking over the rival keepers rooms.

Anyway i just wanted to say it is possible to attract him through the portal, despite it saying you can not on the wiki.
None of the campaign maps have reapers available through the portal. Level 14 however has a reaper hidden near the workshop in the east. You must have freed it without noticing it.

Creatures are never attracted by gold, and rooms over 25 tiles don't matter. (It does help a bit with in the ratio of creatures however).
If you use KeeperFX and you have maps that have reapers available for you to attract (only on custom maps) all that is needed is 9 tiles of temple. In the original/gog versions this does not work due to a bug.
