I want to put Duke Nukem 3D on my laptop to play occasionally, but I get this weird as crap problem. Basically, I customize the controls to my liking, but it stays on the default controls anyways even though it shows clearly that I altered them in the setup. Has anyone else gotten this problem?, if so, any chance I can solve it?

Ok, well, first, don't install to Program Files, reinstall into c:/games or something. Also, you might want to use eDuke, as it's easier to set up your controls in there.

I'll try that, thanks

No problem.
Why not try DOSBox out? http://www.dosbox.com/

It lets you change your own controls as possible.

GOG versions of DOS games come with DOSBox bundled and GOG's shortcuts launch DOSBox and the game within it. It is optional, though, you don't have to install DOSBox with the GOG installer.
