Even with those differences of patch and graphics, I'd prefer to buy GOG version, because well, DRM. But - Im afraid of losing something important which seems that Steam's version has.

What are your honest opinions on which version I should spent money on?

Really thank you.

1. Graphics?
2. GoG version has dysfunctional online component. And with this comes the death of a community here. In this sector Steam has no competition I'm afraid.

Apart from that they are very similar, even without patch or two, they even crash the same way for me ;)

So yeah, I definitely buy DRM-free...which doesn't change anything now since I bought box version, long before I learned about GoG version, and guess what DRM it uses :|
Somehow my reply to your post is gone to the Void.

Anyway, thanks for your answer!
not getting access to the online component kills like half of the game. and it¿s not just that, some quests are broken as well. so yeah, as much as it might hurt you, steam's version is more optimal in this case.

Dragons Dogma is missing two patches which were released in 2017 on Steam. They improve graphics and solve several bugs, among which you have stuff related to the pawn functionality. Steam's version is also not region locked.

Check out the Nexus Mods site, they have a ton of great texture mods for Dragon's Dogma DA. They have a tons of other mods also, from tweaks to boosts to even increased world difficulty mods.

From what I understand if I'm reading the posts on those forums correctly, the texture mods are probably a vast improvement over even the 2017 Steam patches.

I'm currently playing with a few mods and the game and runs looks awesome. If you need some suggestions, let me know and I'll detail the ones I'm using right now. I can't speak for the ones I haven't tried yet though. :)
.
For anyone who wants to play the game with all the official patches, please take a look at this topic:

Starkrun just made a patch that eventually made the GOG version almostly equal to the Steam version at least on the aspect of graphics and bug fix. He's currently sharing it on Nexus mods so feel free to have a try!
