Heyyy GOG peeps, I'm practically tech illiterate and my game keeps crashing, no way past it because it's part of a cutscene - scene tries to change, loading screen always crashes. I've read there's a patch that can fix this, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it!

If anyone knows a fix for this and could walk me through how to do it, I'd be very grateful~

DA:O doesn't play well with multi-core cpu's, but this is my suggestion;

For your crashing, go to "task manager", right click on DA:O in "details", choose "set affinity", and select whichever core you like. Just choose only one core.

Me either. This is really stupid. I'm 39-hours in and until this morning I would encounter an accasional crash. Now, suddenly I can't even load saved games without crashing. Or if I do, by some miracle, get the save to load, it crashes within a minute or two. This is the same on two different computers (one laptop and one desktop), both build for "gaming".

I used to have problems with the game crashing until I downloaded the 4gb patch.

Also if playing the Awakening expansion download the Silverite mines fix from nexus. It fixes a bug when in the mines.

I used that patch and I never experienced a crash again. Tbh I still have to play Awakening so i don't know about the second one
