Hello everybody,

I encountered a problem with Dracula 3. When I start a game, the screen flickers: It's in the videos, on the mouse-cursor and in the main menu. I changed the fullscreen-entry in the game's *.ini to window-mode. That works, but it's really no pleasure to play the game in such a small window, especially because you have to read many documents. On my older laptop (Dell Inspiron with integrated Intel Graphics) everything worked fine.
I hoped for a proper working version of the game, so I bought the trilogy here on GOG again...
Is there a solution for this problem?

Have you tried updating your video card's driver and DirectX to the latest version available ?

Hello,

I have the same problem, the only fix for now is to play windowed.
I'm on Windows 7 64bits (fully updated) with a Geforce GTX 560Ti.
Tried with 320.49 whql, 326.19 & 326.41 drivers, all compatibility modes, vsync/triple buffering on or off.
Seems to be an Nvidia driver's issue, not fixed since 2010 (just search for "Dracula 3 flicker" on Google), and affects other games as well (Nostradamus for example).

From now on, I use MultiRes to change my resolution to 1152x864 and launch the game (so it's the closest to fullscreen), but sometimes the mouse gets out of focus.

Anyway, thanks for releasing such a great game on GOG !

I have the same issue with my Dracula 3. Windowing it seems to be the only way to fix it. My video card is up to date as it can be.

It looks just fine in windowed form although somewhat ruins the immersion.

Hello.

For what it's worth, windowed borderless gaming works for me. The game needs to be running in windowed mode, then borderless gaming (BG) will expand it to full screen without the flicker. Here's a link to the main download site. It's free. (I use it for various games because it makes some games more stable when using alt+tab a lot to switch into/out-of the game. It also causes games to inherit my desktop setings for color, contrast, and digital vibrance.)

Thank you for your helpful reply! My workaround was simply to set my desktop resolution to the resolution the game runs in. A bit of a chore every time, but better than a tiny window. ;) I'll definitively check out your solution though, so thank you!
