open config.ini in main folder
change bFullScreen=1 to 0.


download multi res program-

copy multires to main folder

make a batch file (new text file change extension to bat). and write

multires.exe /1152,864,32
start /w dracula3.exe
multires.exe /restore

you can also download this program to make it windowless but it distorts it

For those interested I did find the bFullScreen Method to work on windows vista. Solid image just a smaller less immersive experience.

by "main folder" you are referring to the Dracula 3 installation folder?

thank you! this works well. it works best if you take out your desktop wall paper and set your screen wallpaper to solid black, would be nice to also make taskbar black but I can't so keeping Aero Peak enabled might be best for looks in Dracula 3.

I played just fine yesterday, but when I tried and executed the shortcut today, (Dracula3.bat) it brought up a dos command screen but would not execute the game unless I double clicked it a second time. I had heard of other people having this issue with ALL exe files on windows XP but I use Windows 7 and it only happens when Dracula3.bat tries to run Dracula3.exe via the command and fails until the second try(via Dracula3.bat). this issue is not a problem for other desktop icons, only dracula3.bat and another game I play, Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines(Vampire.exe) which may not be related to this topic but I point it out as these two are the only games that must be double-clicked twice to execute reguardless if on desktop or in original folder. Dracula3.exe works unless I use the Dracula3bat command to get to it then it just comes up with the command screen. did not do this when I first made the file, only after double-cicking it again after I made it then I now have to double-click twice to get the game to run. I remade the file, then it ran fine, until I ran it a second time(after reboot) then again must be double-clicked twice to run the game.

I just tried it. The game does work, but the window is very small on a bigger screen (1920x1200) and cannot be moved. Fullscreen mode still produces the image flickering (Win7). I'll give the mutlires tool you mentioned a try tomorrow.

google wined3d.dll and put the former file plus libwine.dll and d3d9.dll into the game folder and the game will run as intended.
The lagging mouse speed will be corrected, the turning and transition speeds will be corrected and the flickering screen when changing to inventory will dissapear.

Windows 7/x64 here and by using the 3 DLLs mentioned which I obtained from PCGamingWiki along with tips from Dizzy from the GOG stream team, I got all of these problems solved. I had to hand edit config.ini in the game's dir and set Fullscreen mode to 2 to get it to go full screen. The game works great now. I've seen confirmations around the web from people using Windows 7, 8.x, and 10 that this fix seems to solve all the problems they were having with this game also, so hopefully this info helps others.

In other games another bunch of files can be worth a try too:

-Trying the other dll´s that exist in the wine d3d download package like the ddraw or the d3d8 depending the API the old game uses
-dxwnd. A bit tricky to use but I have fixed games like Black Dahlia with it
-dgvoodoo2. A lot of games fixed with this, testing options. Even King´s Quest Mask of Eternity runs great in glide with it, smoother than NGlide
