The intro movie (and any other movie) runs in slow motion and the sound stutters throughout the movies and in game. The mouse is extremely slow and jerky, even just trying to navigate the menus to exit the game. What's really weird is that I tried booting up games 2 and 3, and both of them work perfectly. That makes me think that even though my system is far less than awesome, it ought to be good enough for game 1 if 2 and 3 work fine. Any ideas on how to fix it? (And before pointing me to the thread about a possible fix, I do not have a discrete graphics card, so that isn't helpful.) I've also tried everything in the Support page and nothing has worked.

My laptop specs are:
Windows Vista 32, Dual CPU T3200, 2.00GHz, 2GB RAM
And far as I can tell my graphics are Mobile Intel (R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family (drivers up to date)

Help? Thanks!

I'm having the exact same problem, as well. I had to start using an older computer running Vista, I don't even know the full specs (lower than the OP's, for sure), and since I can't run most of my GOG games due to the Intel integrated graphics card, but I do have a LOT of HDD space, I decided to try installing the (awesome) Dracula trilogy. I would think it was a problem with my PC specs, but it runs Dracula 2 and 3 flawlessly, and both those games are way more demanding, tech-wise, than the first one (or am I mistaken? Please, correct me if I'm wrong!).

I wanted to play through the entire trilogy again, but apparently Dracula 1 is utterly unplayable -- and I tried every single compatibility mode/run as administrator combination possible, so it's definitely not that, either.

Is there a fix for this, or will I have to start with Dracula 2? I played them all before, but I'd really like to start from the beginning again, if possible. It's also a shame that GOG installers for games that come in a bundle won't let me uninstall single titles, too... :\
I think it's the Intel graphic card which causes these issues. Game runs flawlessly on my computer and I'm using Win7 64 bit with ATI graphic card and I know for certain that it also runs well with NVIDIA graphic card.

Only things I can suggest (if your drivers are up to date) is that you should invest to a better graphic card, Intel graphic chips don't work well with many games and seem to cause all kinds of weird problems.

I have given up on this title until I'm able to upgrade to a better system. Many other titles are slow and buggy but usually playable on this thing so I have plenty of games to keep me busy for now.
If you go to the Intel graphics card website and download the driver update program it will find another version. I updated to it and the game works perfectly.
I have the same problem and I tried the intel driver thingy but it did not detect any possible updates for drivers or something...I guess.

I have a quite bad laptop and Part 3 worked just fine, so I have no Idea what could make a differnce in that game
Do you also have a dedicated graphics card? If yes, try switching to it and using it instead. I'm not sure if mine runs on the integrated Intel or dedicated 540M, but Dracula 1 runs perfectly fine on mine. Perhaps try using different versions of the intergrated card if you only have that one and see with which version it runs? Also contact the official gog support, they should be able to help you somehow.
I updated this found a fix if you have any of these dracula games and the screen is flickering try
this it worked for me today after i asked for help lol was so lame and simple fix too..

right click your desktop and go to setings for the video change the 32 bit color to 16 and poof screen flickering stoped on the video for Dracula the resurection.....

also on the dracula the resurection use compatablity set to 640 screen resolution too.

It may help any old game using 16 bit color so try it when done playing game just set color back to 32 bit

Hope this workd for you guys it was so simple i couldnt beleave it haha

i have a PoS 2006 vista laptop that can run shadowgate reboot (2014) flawlessly. runs other older games, pretty well too.

pop on dracula resurrection .. it runs terrible. talking <10 fps here. cutscenes, actual gameplay, mousing around is painful, dont understand how a game that released in 2000 cant work on a 2006 rig.

tried compatability mode(s), Dxwnd program, lowering the resoltuion / color bits, etc., nothing seems to fix it.

something about the engine & that particular chipset config arent playing nice at all. must just the intel graphics chip..

sucks. help?
There are no subtiles available for this game?
