For everybody who isn't able to enjoy the game because it seems to run much to fast on their PC, there seems to be a simple work-around. On Windows, you can slow the game down by starting more than one instance of Downwell.

- You have to Alt-Tab out once you've started the game and just start it again.
- To keep your gem progress, make sure the instance you've actually played is the last you close. Use Alt-Tab to jump to the other instance(s) and close them before.

Hope that helps somebody to get the best out of the game. I had good fun playing by slowing it down by a little bit. I think it would have been also beatable at its unaltered speed, but it would have taken much more time, which I wasn't willing to spend.

@ the dev: A difficulty setting affecting game speed would do great in this game

I slowed it using cheat engine.

You mean this: http://www.cheatengine.org/
Good to know it works, might help someone as well!

However, not having to use 3rd party software is still a plus to me.
this will probably work with any game, wan't it? just add work load to your computer
test

Edit: For some reason it was impossible to post anything in this thread.
Had to try multiple times.

This.
It works perfectly, I've used this in the past, to slow down annoying parts in a couple of games.
I recommend this (free) program, it's handy.
