Has anyone finished Double Dragon I or II yet?

Have you gotten the original classic arcade ending or does the game abruptly cut to the menu after you've beaten the last boss?

Any guesses as to what could be causing this abrupt non-ending?

edit: it doesn't happen in online multiplayer - in Double Dragon I, at least, I've seen the ending. In single player it keeps happening. Maybe because I'm hitting continue?

Just had the same thing with Double Dragon 1, offline, single-player, story mode, easy. The lady falls down, and then suddenly I get shown my score. I think there is a bug.

EDIT: And now just had the same thing happen with Double Dragon 2. I'm wondering if this has to do with easy mode. I've never been good enough to beat either one in the arcade without continues, so even with story mode I'm not sure how I'm going to beat it on normal. The ability to earn some extra credits over time would be nice.

EDIT II: Yep, Double Dragon 3 has the same thing. Single-player, story mode, easy = no ending.

EDIT III: Double Dragon 1, offline, single-player, story mode, normal difficulty = no ending still. Something is definitely wrong.

EDIT IV: Double Dragon 1 still has no ending from story mode on easy if you start from Mission 4.

There's a thread over on Steam with people also complaining about no endings being found. So you guys aren't the only ones asking about it.

Unfortunately, someone there made a joke about the endings being removed because of SJWs, it being sexist content, and all of that. It seems some people believed it., and now the thread's filled with ranting about censorship and so forth.

Any chance you can bring back the original title screens, and not have the "Could not connect to Galaxy" message appear every time we go to menus in offline mode?

And to anyone familiar with Galaxy, will we have to re-download the whole game again when it updates, or will the Galaxy stuff just update it for me the moment I click on the game's desktop icon? (Even if I just go into offline mode)

We have just received the patch from DotEmu and we'll be updating the game as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we cannot do so right at this moment since it's almost 8 PM in the evening.

Rest assured we'll get everyone updated ASAP and one of the items in the changelog is related to the endings :)
I'm having this issue even after the update. DD2, Story mode, Easy, and all I get is Billy entering the door, and then it goes back to the menu.

Completely uninstalled the game except for my saves, then reinstalled the new version, and I still can't see the ending.

EDIT: Had the same issue with DD1. As soon as Marion hits the floor, bam, cut to menu. And this time it was Original difficulty on Arcade mode.

Also, it's single player in both cases, although I did launch the Galaxy client.

EDIT2: And for anyone who's curious, Double Dragon 3 has the exact same problem.

Am I doing something wrong? I've uninstalled the game and redownloaded the newer version multiple times now and the endings still don't work no matter what I try.

Was the update actually uploaded yet? I don't see anything anywhere mentioning it. If it hasn't been, that would explain your issue, Runico.
GOG Galaxy updated the game last night.

Right now I completed DD1, normal, story mode and no ending! It just cuts back to the menu. :(

Thank you for joining us here in the forum; it is especially nice that you are aware of us and are listening.

I'm sad to say that the latest update has not fixed the ending.

We know you'll take care of it.

We appreciate your presence, so please check in on us from time to time.
Someone on Steam said they got the ending in DD1 after the patch, by playing it on the hardest setting. Anyone here try that?

On expert? Nah. But if I did I bet I'd hit continue a couple of times which might make you think you need to play a perfect game just to get an ending. 'Course that can't be true.

It's an old arcade game - it should just be endless quarters now at the push of a button.

Well, it's the weekend, it's time to be patient with the bugs.

It's possible the game itself wasn't updated, but SOMETHING was. When I looked at my account page, it said two games had been updated, Outcast and this. There's another topic where the changelog was mentioned, so I assumed the game was updated.
