Edit* I tweaked the Ultimate Doom and it's working great!

I tried the same thing with Doom II but novert is not working. Any idea why?

Two options:

1) Run setup shipped with the game, and set controlls in there
or
2) Download ZDoom, unpack into Doom folder, and play using ZDoom.exe (you can change controls from in-game menus)

Thank you! All of a sudden novert is working sporadically for me now. I tweaked the game in the source code. It works some times and doesn't work other times.

I use GZDoom with the Brutal Doom mod. GZDoom give you modern mouse controls and solves the problems you're having.
