Sequiro: Calm down friend. What issue are you having? Lost your pyramids and an Imp? I, just before I turned off my play through off last night some zixzax ? demon fella took my pyramids from me, I'm guessing I'll bump into him again at some point. Something go wrong with that for you?
GOG merely gets the games running on current OS's as best as they can they can't possibly know and list all the glitches in the games, gltiches that may be completely random and rare to boot. Even the developers of the games won't list them on a purchase area. They will simply release patches for them to an extent.
It's up to us gamers knowing full well we are buying older games to research what we are buying. It's not fair to blame GOG for these bugs or not listing them. (I don't think any online store does that) All you can do is make sure you save often and save multiple saves in case stuff happens.
If you explain what your bug/issue is perhaps someone here can help you out?
I know what you are going through I just had one HELL of a time with Crysis two weeks ago. Got all the way to the end of the game and experienced glitch after glitch and one was game breaking. Thankfully someone helped me finish the game
I'm not blaming GOG for the major bug that forces one to either start over (after getting all the way to the end) or use the editor to make fixes.
But it IS fair to blame GOG for not putting that information out there, front and center, on the game card. You say it's not, we disagree. When you purchase a house, (here in US in most states) the law says you have to point out the flaws. And that's the way it should be in EVERY industry. Just because no other company does it doesn't mean I can't hold GOG accountable.
They have a choice to make, and it's their CHOICE. They choose to hide these facts until after someone has purchased it, and it is entirely fair for me, or anyone else, to hold GOG accountable for their choices. And I've spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars here, and have decided I will not spend another dime until they make it their policy to put info like this on the gamecard.
If it were just this game, or one game, it wouldn't be bad. But I've run into no less than FIVE games over the last few months that have had MAJOR issues with them, and they're KNOWN issues because they're being discussed in the forums. And since they're known issues, IMO GoG should put that info on their game card. And until they do, they won't get another dime from me.
And yes, one can research the forums before purchasing, that's true. And it's also JUST AS TRUE that GOG could put the info right out in front on the game cards. They choose not to, that's their choice, and everyone has fair right to judge a company for the choices they make.
Have a good weekend.
bevinator: Well technically, these are all Larian's fault, not GOG's fault. There were some issues with the GOG patch not including all of the previous fixes, and then the source for that patch getting lost. And in theory they'll be re-patching it soon to combine all the fixes together.
Also, the imp bug is actually super-easy to fix. All you need is a hex editor. If you've actually run into this issue, there's a post in that very Resistance Bug thread that explains how to do it. It's also possible to spawn more Pyramids if you've genuinely lost them. If they were seized from you when you went into the castle, though, that's totally normal behavior and you will get them back later. You haven't really lost them, they're just unavailable temporarily.
Apparently I wasn't clear in my OP. My apologies.
I am NOT BLAMING GOG for the bugs.
I am, however, holding GOG accountable for choosing to not share that known information on the game cards.
