I was scrolling to find which games I have to buy to complete my collections, when I saw many new versions. In this case is:

Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Eternal Edition

I have this:

Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition

To be quick: is there any difference in the game itself? (Not interested in extras outside the game, like soundtracks, art, etc). Just the game, is the same?

ps: versions are killing collections...

No.

The Eternal Edition is a package consisting of the D:OS 2 Divine Edition, D:OS Enhanced Edition (not Classic) with its Collector's Edition extra content (soundtrack, design documents, art pack) and the earlier three games Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity and Divinity 2 Developer's Cut.

The D:OS 2 Divine Edition is the Definitive Edition of the game, plus the 'Divine Ascension' DLC content (soundtrack, a pdf map, art and lore books).

First, thank you for your beautiful RPGs.

I think I understood that little mess, but just to be clear the complete games are:

1. Divine Divinity
2. Beyond Divinity
3. Divinity 2
4. Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition
5. Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Eternal Edition

Having all of those 5 titles, won't be missing anything "playable"?

I'm not counting DLCs, which don't add new 'covers' to my collection, just want to avoid duplicate games.

That is the full list of Larian RPGs (though a typo in 5; the game itself is the Definitive Edition).

There is also Divinity: Dragon Commander, a diesel punk strategy game with turn based moves on the world map, RPG elements / story at the base between turns and real time combat skirmishes (or combat can be auto resolved) where you control your units and/or enter combat as a dragon (with a jet pack).

This evolved out of looking at dragon combat after Divinity 2 was finished, and noticing that a higher speed made air combat more fun (flying was good, but combat not very compelling). And of course the best way to give a dragon a speed boost is with a jet pack, so that is how the diesel punk aesthetic started.

Yes, Definitive Edition (another confusion thanks versions! lol). Thank you for all the clarifications. Divinity 2 is the only game not in the same style but I enjoyed it in its time as what it is, and Dragon Commander is a good adaptation of that idea to strategy, I have to play it. Best wishes to the good nation of Larian.
