Hi there,

as a fan of classic RPG, D:OS looks like a sin I should try. So I would like to buy this game for my wife and me but I don't know if it would playable on our old pc.
The specs are AMD Athlon II X2 240 DualCore-CPU (2x 2,8 GHz), 4 GB DDR3 RAM and a nVidia GeForce GTX 650 PCIe with 2 GB DDR5 RAM, Win 7 64bit. I know the cpu could be a little weak, but hope the GTX650 should be better than the min spec HD4000. For comparison my wife can play League of Legends and NeverWinter Online with high details without issues on this machine.

Is there a different on playing co-op on lan for the hardware specs? I think on lan one pc would be a server with most work to do and the other is just a client, right?

Purzelkater: hope the GTX650 should be better than the min spec HD4000.
It is better than the GeForce 8800 GT, which is the minimum recommended nvidia card, so you should be fine (the CPU is about on par with the minimum recommended).

One person does host the game and the other join, but the client system still has to be able to run the game.

Seems fine by my reckoning. My wife can play D:OS on low settings on her 11-inch MacBook Air!

System Requirement Labs has a site called Can You RUN It. It evaluates your computer and determines if it can run a certain game. I've used it a few times with good results. Good luck!

Sorry but no... that system will boot the game however you need more ram (at lest another 4g) to run it well.

Based on my experiences with various desktop and laptop setup that site sucks as it never checked real performance of certain config, only uses database of indexes based on official low/medium/high end requirement specs for comparison.

NeverWinter Online is itself unoptimized resource hoarder and if it's playable then I see no reason why it shouldn't be playable with OP rig, but still because of modular nature of game and large maps with everything preserved, loaded (corpses of summons also stay so count them in thousands after some time), large portions of data is advised to tone down or disable most of quality starting with shadows, advanced lighting and textures. Biggest game killer is still tripple buffering Vsync which can lag whole menu input and UI output in game.

Still, this game have better optimization than Spellforce games or Sacred 2 with 1-map whole respawn of everything.

dude thats not even low spec. i have a 1.8 quad core intel processor, 64mb vram, 2gb ram and 11gb or hdd space.
Even hotline miami spikes from 60 fps to 20 fps on my system

Yeah i have a mac air too, was wondering if it was going to run at all on mine?

It may. Graphics are good (minimum is HD 4000, and the 6000 has double the performance). The lowest I`ve seen reported working for the CPU is 1.7GHz, on a desktop with more than the recommended GPU (the official minimum is 2.4GHz dual core).
