Talked to a little boy who asked me to save his parents who were held hostage. He said the best way to get in was in the kitchen in back of the house, but he lost the key.

I don't know if I've found the key (I found one sort of close by but there were many orcs there) but I simply cannot find the back door to even try to unlock. Is there a way to turn the camera around and see from a different angle whether I can find it?? Or is it another bug where the door should be there, visible when my mouse passes over it, but for some reason isn't??? (I have passed my cursor over every inch of the backside of the house very slowly at least 4 times now.)

And can someone tell me if there is supposed to be a quest at the Dwarven Village?? For some reason my memory insists that there was a quest there the last time I played many years ago, but I've spoken to everyone in the village and no quest. No Dwarven teleporter scroll either; I thought there was a quest there that when I finished I got the scroll. I guess my memory is wrong on that too??

Well, that's just great. Apparently ANOTHER major bug.

There is no kitchen door AND no key AND little Timmy doesn't run up to me as I near the door that's not there but is supposed to be.

And I know for a fact this was not missing in my last playthrough of the CD version years and years ago.

Yes, ALL games have issues. And ALL games have minimum specs in order to play. And just like minimum specs are listed on the playcard, so too should known issues be. That's consumer friendly, and it should be done that way.

I dunno, another major, major major bug. I may not break my pledge not to buy anymore after all. Perhaps I can find King of Dragon Pass somewhere else on these interents. Because THIS is ridiculous.

I figured something was wrong, because I thought I remember playing it last time and it wasn't this hard to find my way into the house.

You're welcome . . =)

Hummnn, maybe you should not assume so much based on your memory . . . =)
It's a big, open world with lots to do . . . and forget.

Look at # 12 on this link.

Details here

Edit: I may have misunderstood which house you were asking about, if so, my apologies.

I read the spoiler dude, there is supposed to be a door back there, and a key laying close to it. Just as i thought.

And if I go inside the front door, I can see the back door then. But if I go in the front door, they kill the little boy's parents. And it will simply NOT show the back door from the outside.

ADDED IN EDIT: Well, apparently I must have picked up the key when I first met the little boy, because when I go in the front door, and go back to the locked back door, it unlocks.

But it still won't do anything from the back, so I can go in that door instead and save the parents instead of getting them killed.

Details of quest here.

Sorry for taking so long, had to open game and walk to the house. It has a back door and kitchen door in my game. See attached. Not saying your house does not . . . only that there are several houses / quests. I think I misunderstood which you were asking about in your original post and posted links and image of another house.

Still, I don't think you have a major bug . . . =)

So when you walked around in back of the house, it showed a door? Both a kitchen and bedroom door??

Mine doesn't. It will when I go in the front door, and then can see in the whole house, but when I do that, they kill the boy's parents. And when I try and go in the back I click all over the place back there and no door.

I'm just not gonna worry abouut it anymore. Thanks for your help, but it's just gonna bother me more if I keep messing with it, so I'm just gonna forget it. Besides, I've about 400 other games to choose from to play LOL. Between my collection here at GOG and my home collection I think I have well over 400 games.

Thinking of giving Dragon Age Origins a try. I'm installing that as I type.

Yeah, see attached, my character is standing at the bedroom door, I press ALT and all doors light up as you can see by the image.

You have to go in the kitchen first, get the bedroom backdoor key, let the parents out than go to the front door or enter thru the kitchen As described here.
